10/29/2024 Kick Recap - "That's My Underboss"

Lang calls Arush to meet, Arush tells him that he’s currently robbing a cash exchange, but he has Lang’s items that he won from the auction. Lang watches the robbery from across the street, and Arush calls after leaping to the highway. Lang and Arush argue about what Lang paid for at the auction, Lang doesn't want to pay for lower quality products. Their argument escalates into Arush shooting at Lang with the EMP gun, and then they have a superhero fight on a rooftop. Arush goes down, and Lang robs him, eventually taking him to the hospital. He notices spooky smoke and a blood fountain outside the hospital. Lang calls Clark to check in, Clark gives him the radio to listen in to the job they're on. Arush returns to the car and tells Lang about how bad he wants the helicopter.

tsunami hits

Lang runs into Luciano on the Cypress streets and picks him up. They discuss the agenda for the day, interested in looking for the rest of the kill list, while planning another Hot Run. They gather up equipment and move the bricks around to prepare for later. Lang picks up Arush and they head to the Legion Square garage patio to have a meeting.

Don Meeting

Lang, Arush, and Luciano start the meeting by discussing who is fit for Underboss. Arush thinks Teddy is perfect if he's around more, but Lang thinks he's too hard. If not, Arush suggests Clark, Lang agrees. They raise concern with his bad habit of procrastination, but maybe with more power he can delegate properly. Lang wants to treat the Underboss with respect, and freedom. They note that the role is slightly beneath Don, it will be a larger deal within the crew to show him that respect. Lang suggests CJ for Enforcer based on Martin's recommendation, they all agree that she's a good fit for it. Arush mentions getting Leon promoted to Enforcer finally, they agree. Finally, they discuss the Specialist role and it's purpose. After coming to an agreement on them being irreplaceable members in the crew, they agree to promote Sophia. Lang believes that Santana is hiding with Hades after they house heisted the Night Crew, and then shares how sad he is to kill Yaya after he told him he was family. Lang wants to promote Clark today, Luciano agrees since he's going on vacation for a week as of Friday. Lang is frustrated that he's being left with Arush. Luciano wants to figure out the new number system for the crew since they ended sub crews, so they call Gigi over to figure things out. Arush tries to get them to vote on buying the helicopter for the crew, they refuse. Lang and Arush argue about the auction.

Don Meeting with Gigi

Gigi loved when people submitted numbers to captains or Dons weekly, she just needs a mailbox set up for people to drop money off that's coded. She plans on having it in the section where Kitty was farming, and she'll manage giving out the codes and organizing the set up. Lang is concerned that if Gigi isn't around, it will fall apart. Gigi tells him that she's been training Sophia all along, so even if she's not around Sophia can handle it. They agree to try it out, and adjust if necessary. Gigi mentions that people haven't earned or submitted good numbers this week, the Dons agree that they will punish anyone who has extremely low earnings on the new system. Arush wants to buy a helicopter through working, so he clarifies that he can submit numbers for a kickback. Gigi wants to pay people based off rank, suggesting a 5% bonus per rank. Luciano asks if they can make a structure for Fentanyl splits, Lang pulls them into a sidebar to discuss the agreement they made to pocket all the money. Arush tells Lang that he changed his mind yesterday, and already agreed to split the money, but Lang is confused. Lang thinks they HAVE to split the money up now because Gigi can't find out they are scamming the crew. They decide to tell her they'll think about the structure and revisit it at a later date, hoping she'll forget.

On their way out, Gigi mentions that someone took out 250k washed and didn't write it down, and it's missing. The Dons are curious and disappointed. They get changed into nice attire for Clark's promotion and head over to the spot. They wait in the Refinery for Clark to arrive, Lang makes fun of Lang and Luciano's suits for being white. Clark arrives and Lang yells at him for being on his phone all the time, and then let's Luciano lead the speech. Luciano tells Clark of the power and responsibility before him, Lang and Arush question his strengths and his weaknesses. Lang reminds him that he is entering the circle (inner circle call back?) that people wish to be apart of. Luciano tells Clark that it is his duty to keep the captains and the crew beneath him in line. He should act as a near equal to a Don, no more excuses. Lang gives Clark a key as a symbol of keys to the 'kingdom', and they send him off.

They head down to the Cypress docks and call CJ for her Enforcer promotion. Andi texts to meet with the Dons soon, they are excited if the warehouse is done. Luciano mentions that she asked for a shotgun as payment for the work, but they still want to give more than that. Lang asks Luciano where Underboss stacks up to Gigi, and he clarifies that he is number 2, to her number 3 (Consig if they ever make it official). CJ arrives, and Arush delivers an empowering speech that promotes her to Enforcer. She is happy to be known to the Don's, and that they see potential in her. Lang reminds her that everyone arounds her appreciates her value and sees her potential, too. Arush allows her to continue not wearing shoes, but to dress nicely for meetings. They send her off, and then realize they forgot the bullet for the symbolism.

They drive over to the hangars by the oil fields and ping Andi to meet. Andi arrives and asks to show them the warehouse TOMORROW before the rest of the crew. They want to lock the warehouse down after NA storm tomorrow until Andi finishes the final checks, and she praises Sophia for helping her. Andi details a few room names and they get even more excited. She reminds them that they'll be able to get the tour an hour and a half after storm tomorrow. Donnie calls to offer a trailer he bought in Sandy, but Lang doesn't really have an ideal use for it right now.

Hot Run

Lang, Arush, Luciano, Octo, Clark, and Bubbles get prepped for the run. They pop by the butcoin farm and Lang realizes the key he gave Clark was for the Silos. Lang decides to ride with Octo and hack, they head out to find the car and wait for the VPN. Lang shows Octo his spring boots while they wait. Luciano delivers the drugs and the VPN, so they begin the run. Lang completes the first hack easily, so they race to drop off the first batch before cops find them. The cops regroup after getting pitted off, so the first contact flees. Lang completes the second hack, but the second contact is scuffed again. After much panic, Lang calls off then run and they head to the sewers for a shoot out. Clark gets pitted and cuffed, Arush picks up the drugs and stashes them, the others race down into the sewers. Many laps and different shootings later, Lang bleeds out and they get pushed by the cops, finally getting cuffed.

Lang is taken, with the rest of the group that is caught, to the hospital to get patched up before they are charged. Lang needs food and gets uncuffed to eat, he tries to run but the doors are locked. Lang threatens that he has a bomb up his ass, but when more cops enter the room he tries to run from the door. He gives up, getting cuffed and escorted to the car. Lang gets billed 120k+ and gets 200 months.

Lang heads to bed.
