10/30/2024 Kick Recap - "Get Better, Not Worse"

Lang wakes up in jail and gets food at the cafeteria. After getting released, he lockpicks a car in the parking lot and drives into town. Lang grabs his truck from the apartments and calls Arush to meet up. Arush is meeting Flippy on the block to look at what he's got to trade. Lang arrives and they look at Flippy's guns, they discuss how they're missing the shotgun sliders even though they have ammo. Flippy tells them about some Cargo Heist changes, like keys for the helicopter being scattered in the crates on the ship, and things not being as easy as they were before. Lang and Arush act like they knew that information already, Flippy remembers to show them the Gutenburg Sweeper (Tommy Gun) mags, Lang wants them all even if they don't have the gun. Arush makes a deal for a couple shotgun sliders and wants to test the PDW mags on the SMG. Flippy agrees, Lang and Arush go to test the SMG.

Arush tells Lang about how broke he is, reminding him they got fined heavy yesterday. Lang checks his bank account in a panic (800k).

tsunami hits

Lang wakes up and heads to the warehouse, putting up DO NOT ENTER signs. He calls Luciano to pick him up, and they discuss how badly the plans went last night. Liya calls to tell Lang that everyone in the crew is in jail because of gang related shooting, Lang reminds her of the warehouse reveal later. Luciano complains that it's hard to maintain the armoury with so little daily materials. Arush calls, Lang asks about the crew conflict, Arush says he knows but not who it's with. They head up to the prison to meet with Clark, but Donnie is the only one at visitation and tells them the story. Zayn was taken hostage by an unknown group, they rolled out to help him, everyone got shot down. Donnie has no idea who it is, either.

Lang wants to get medical supplies, they notice there is new legislation making tourniquets, scuba gear, and other equipment illegal. They head to city hall to complain about the legislation, meeting with a new Judge who tries to explain the law. Lang shoots the Judge in the stomach in frustration, and they flee the court house.

Lang and Arush argue about how to change the legislation, Arush thinks that Lang is incorrect based on what he heard from Nino. Lang bets Arush for his car ownership, with Luciano as a witness. He calls Robin who confirms that Lang is mostly correct, but Arush claims that the deal was for Lang to actually try and change the legislation himself. Things escalate to Lang forcing Arush out of the car, and then they fight in the street outside the Vanilla Unicorn. Lang runs over Arush, Arush shoots at them, Lang tells Luciano that if he doesn't fulfill the bet, then he's voting to have Arush removed from the crew.

Lang returns to the Cypress farming warehouse, patiently waiting for Andi's reveal. Luciano arrives and waits with Lang, sharing that he wants to troll Andi about not needing the warehouse. Liya calls to say she's being escorted back to Cypress by police officers, he calls Ilya and Clark to take them out. Officer Peters arrives and asks if Lang allegedly shot a Judge, he denies it. Sakura arrives in a weird car, she has a warrant. Lang tells the few that gather, that they are having a crew meeting after the warehouse reveal. Sakura tells them they're about to go on a fentanyl event, Lang calls Arush to complain that he's late.

Andi takes Lang, Arush, Luciano, and Gigi into the warehouse for the reveal (VOD 2:25) They are so pleased with how dark and moody it is, Tony's office is first, Arush's office is next with pictures of Cousin and a hidden room. She leads them to the 'work room', which is separated by a few doors, and a designated Turbocoggers room. They find the meeting room, with 5 chair and aisles for the members to be seated. Clark's office is cramped and full of trash, the farmer's break room is cozy, and the farm is built to make them not feel like dying.

-
Gigi's office has a small drop box on the outside, Gigi can grab it from the other side of the wall. Gigi can look down on the farmers, and has a stack of money as a foot rest. Luciano's office is pretty generic, but has a small bar in the corner. Lang's office is even DARKER than the others, everything is black and there's a window with a ladder that leads to a torture room below. In the torture room, there is a make shift jail cell with a toilet. Harry's office is next to Lang's, it's got calming plants and waterfalls. She leads them to the group office, where there's a larger counter and a lounge area. Through the fireplace there is a chimney that leads to another super secret room, she advises using this room for the MEGA ULTRA dangerous stuff. They return to Harry's room where she shows them his hidden room attached to a tunnel. They thank Andi for her work, Lang can't get over the details.

They return to meet the rest of Cypress for their tour, unsure where Clark and Ilya are since Lang's instruction. Arush asks if Cuddles can go inside since she's an associate still, Lang says no, but Luciano and Arush find it awkward since she's a farmer. Lang folds and let's them bring her anyways. They head inside with whoever is around to give the tour, Gigi specifies who has keys to specific doors, and who doesn't. She mentions the Underboss office, but not who owns it yet. Lang calls Clark to figure out where he is, and then leaves a voicemail of how disappointed he is in him. Lang and Luciano discuss if they should announce promotions and demotions, they agree it's best for communication. They kick Cuddles out and gather everyone up for a crew meeting.

Crew Meeting

Lang reminds everyone that they have keys to specific places, the Dons have a sidebar to organize their thoughts. They return to the stage where Lang announces the promotions of Clark and CJ, the demotions of Joe and Larry, and the new role of Lieutenant. He tells them they're still looking for people on the hit list, but not to act without Enforcers, Captains, or Don approval. Lieutenants will be helpful delegates during war, equipment management, and strategy. Arush takes his turn to yell at everyone about earnings, and Luciano tells them that they need more materials to supply equipment. After yelling at them a bunch, they send everyone off.

Queenie comes by to ask for a material quota, but Lang and Luciano tell her to just take names of who isn't actively trying to work hard. After, Lang pulls Luciano aside and says that Queenie and Ilya are perfect fits for Lieutenant as they can help manage supplies and remain organized for their jobs, Luciano agress. Lang thanks Andi again for her hard work and reminds her to call if she ever wants to join Cypress. Lang walks away and Andi calls immediately, informing him that she's ready. Luciano pulls Lang for a chat with Vito, they head to the management office. Clark arrives and joins them for the meeting.

Vito wants clarity on the new position, eager to suggest Queenie for the role, they reveal she was already chosen for it. Lang reminds Vito to keep note of lazy people who don't come around that they can remove, they take his judgement on things. Clark wants to have a meeting with the Dons and apologizes for being late, they show him his office. Clark informs them that Teddy and Martin don't want to be captains, the Dons don't understand. Clark tries to explain that they are better utilized as Specialists of some kind, Lang tells Clark that Martin is always failing expectations. Lang comes up with the 'Fixer' role, suggesting that Teddy fits better for someone they can send to failing operations and make them better. Next, Clark asks for clarity on the crew's mentality of how hard they should be, since some are confused. Clark wants to make everyone a bit more dominating, which is why they tried to rescue Zayn.

-
The crew is afraid to go on the cargo heists, Martin tried to gather up people to go the night before and got mad at the crew that refused or wasn't ready. Lang agrees to remove anyone that isn't interested working hard or getting things done. Arush reminds Clark to keep his ears open for good trades, and Clark wants the run down of Lieutenant duties. After explaining everything, Clark continues to tour the warehouse, Gigi gives Octo a tour since he just woke up, and the Dons head out to meet Flippy for the trades.

Lang overcooks on the suspicion of Martin and Teddy, suggesting they make them regular members again to make them earn. Lang thinks Andi would be a good Fixer, Luciano agrees. Arush takes some time to think about it, Flippy cancels the meeting since they're busy, Arush agrees to buy in Andi for role. Lang suggests making the numbers simpler for everyone, but they think without the sub crews they're going to be easier. Flippy calls back to meet now, the Dons are frustrated that they are doing too many meetings. Flippy arrives, Arush gives back the PDW and they chat about buying the tommy gun ammo, or trading the PDW mags. Arush forgets what they agree to, so Luciano proposes 10 PDW mags for 1 slider, 7 tommy gun mags, and some shotgun ammo. Flippy barters down to 5 tommy gun mags, and they agree to a deal.

On the way out, Luciano comments how Arush knew that Flippy was going to pick that exact number. Lang asks Luciano if knows the history between Arush and Flippy, he doesn't. They tell Luciano about how Flippy and Benji were Arush's prodigy pupils, and Arush explains how he grew under Nino before meeting them and forming the Vagos. Lang tells him they used to call them 'schnake bois' after the conflict that separated them, and that's how they got the name Hydra. The Dons return to Azul to gather up the mags for the deal.

Octo calls to check in, clarifying what his issue is with the Hot Run. Lang suggests having him in a pick up/block car so that he can use a vehicle he prefers, Octo agrees. They meet Flippy for the exchange, and he tells them that the shotgun ammo sells for a good price. Arush heads to bed, Teddy calls to meet and show the Dons something. Lang doesn't want to approach the captain discussion, but they meet near Azul. Teddy walks them over to the house next door and shows them the house that Donnie bought, it came pre-decorated.

Lang checks in with Teddy, he's not happy with the new number system. Teddy doesn't want to manage or move money on behalf of other people. Teddy explains that he spoke to Clark that he would rather be in a specialist role which allows him to maintain his power without having to record people's numbers. Lang thinks they'll put the onus of submission on the member, compared to the captains having to track every detail. Teddy heard about Clark's promotion and congratulated him, Lang asks if he's still motivated and Teddy is very motivated and working hard still. They remind him to go check out the Frank's warehouse new design.

Lang and Luciano leave, discussing how they feel about what Teddy said. They agree that they want to simplify the number system, and they trust the bought in members not to lie about their submissions. Lang wants to give Clark the Stables as his property to manage and run, his office can remain in Frank's, but he's allowed to use the Stables as he sees fit. Lang drops Luciano back in Cypress, and then heads to bed.
