12/17/2024 Kick Recap - "Happy To Be Here"

Lang wakes up and realizes his Penguinmobile was seized by PD last night, Queenie asks to speak to Lang later, Martin calls to try and figure out what vehicle they are going to work on next. Lang takes the RSX over to the Tuner shop and Martin swaps the engine out. Lang tries to call a Judge to see if he can get access to his old car for the parts, but they don't have access either. Martin raises the RSX to an X class and Lang is excited to try it out. Hazel offers to go get them food, Lang returns to the Tuner shop still interested in getting a different car.

Hazel returns with food and Octo arrives, Lang and Martin gauge Octo's impression of the car changes and the new depth. Octo isn't as enthused, so Lang and Martin try to get him to change his attitude and mindset. Martin shops some ideas around other people that arrive at the Tuner, Lang helps suggest engine upgrades for people and quietly lets them know that changes are coming for car parts. Hazel wants Lang to try nos, so he installs it in the RSX. Lang takes the Sandal for a spin, and out accelerates Martin with the nos. Lang gives the bottle back to Hazel, but mentions the noticeable difference in using nos. Lang spins over to Mosley's and gets the car colour changed to a bright red, everyone notices and compliments the car.

Lang finds the 400k they lost from the gold as washed cash in the Forge, so they group up and head to Yellow Jack to clean the cash. Liya compliments the car, but tells her that it's very attention seeking. Lang shows Liya how to put the money to clean, and they drive down to grab his money run truck. Lang successfully completes his money run, they deliver the cash back to the warehouse and check out the studio upstairs. Lang tries to get Larry to spit some bars, and hopes that he practices throughout the week. Some of the Northerners head out to do moonshine, Lang and Martin find a 24/7 in the southside to rob. Martin gets a card, so they gather up the crest of the crew for a jewelry store heist.
### Jewelry + Bank Truck Heist
Lang, Martin, Larry, Liya, Hank, and Bubbles gather equipment for the job, and Martin decides to quick hit the jewelry store without a hostage. Martin gets the bank truck chip and tracks it to the Tuner shop. Lang converges with everyone on the truck, noticing a Ammunation crate in the parking lot. After shooting out the guards, they take the truck up into the mountains and begin looting the back of the truck. Robin calls, Lang tells him about his intention to appeal the VAFs on the Penguinmobile. Martin finishes getting the loot (150k and blue card), Lang drops him back at his car.

Lang calls Clark to check in, South Cypress couldn't hit Paleto because there was a different gang already doing it. Charlie Wilson calls to sell Lang a Phone Upgrade and asks him a few random questions. Charlie charges Lang a small fee of 1k for the free upgrade, Lang heads to the bank to pay it. Lang wants the delivery of the new product to the Forge, and asks about what the upgrade actually does. Martin suggests that they aren't unlucky with Paleto, and they are just missing the timing for the the cargo heist card.

Lang and Martin return to north Cypress, Bubbles asks what they should name their weed strain, Lang suggests "Bog Pussy" or "Harry Brown". Lang gets some materials exchanged, Martin mentions that Charlie has arrived to deliver the upgrade. When Lang returns, Charlie upsells Lang an electronics system with a TV for an extra 10k. Lang sets up the TV in the office, showing it off. Lang tries to convince everyone that he got a great deal for the electronics equipment, Liya isn't very happy with the deal. Lang calls Charlie back for a surround sound speaker system, and waits for a great deal to be delivered. Liya tries to caution Lang on getting scammed, but Lang doesn't seem convinced.

Lang calls Clark for help to set up the turf, but neither of them understand it. Larry cries from laughter about the TV, Lang calls Martin for support on his choice. Charlie returns to deliver the 24 speaker surround sound system, Lang gives him 25k for it. Liya grows frustrated that they are allowing Lang to be scammed. After installing his new speaker system, Edgar calls to meet Lang in the Forge. Lang calls Saab in to see his new electronics set up, Larry makes fun of Saab's strange new look.

Edgar tells Lang that he should come with them to figure out the next steps. Jay pulls Edgar aside to discuss that the Besties might not want to work with Lang and the members of Cypress for this, so Edgar offers to change the group. Edgar explains that the Besties helped them get to this point, but they are not required for the next step. Edgar wants Jay and Freg(someone that helped them get this far), Lang, and one more person. Lang suggests bringing Saab, but Edgar seems reluctant bring Saab based on their history. Edgar explains that the FIB documents are related to the locked office in the FIB building (they explored this months ago), and suggests that when the Cargo ship is called, that's when they must go to the office. Lang is interested, but unsure if they can handle the firefight between the other gangs. Edgar has weaponry from doing previous special jobs for different organizations that he will gather, Lang calls Saab inside the refinery to tell him about what he learned.

Saab doesn't trust Edgar, he thinks he made a deal with the devil. Lang recaps the meeting and explains the plot Edgar cooked up, Saab thinks it's a good idea. Lang gathers equipment, Saab has to go take care of his court ordered duties. Lang tells Liya that she's not invited to movie nights, Liya tells Lang that the TV won't even turn on. Liya brings Tony to the office, he's not impressed either. The TV begins to spark, Lang explains how intense the sound system is going to feel. Liya doesn't want to enable Lang's behaviour, so she leaves. Lang tells Tony about Charlie and they chat about how the day has gone so far, Liya doesn't like that Tony is feeding Lang's delusion.

Chatterbox calls to threaten Lang, Lang is surprised he's still alive. Lang thinks Chatterbox will never find him because he gave up everything he had, for love. Tony wants to call Charlie, Lang doesn't want Tony to spook Charlie about his good deal. Lang shows Tony the studio and wants him to spit some bars. They put on a beat and Tony freestyle's about how much he doesn't like snow. Lang is excited to get Norfside Studios up and running, they stop by the bar to chat. Tony doesn't like Liya's attitude, Lang brags about his new TV.

Edgar calls back to say Paleto was hit recently, so they have to wait. He asks if Lang has anyone smart that he trusts, Lang stops by the Lighthouse painting and discusses Jean Paul. Edgar cautions Lang about the lighthouse (based on his own history), but Lang mentions Martin Banks instead. Lang wants Martin to come with them, but he's out of city right now. Lang won't go unless Martin comes, Edgar offers to try the hacks if they can do it today. Sophia warns Lang about the fire hazard, he shows her the TV, and the studio.

Lang takes Saab to go meet with Edgar, but they are still grabbing supplies. They think South Cypress is lurking around Paleto to hit it, so Lang and Saab try to keep sight on the bank. Edgar wants Lang to try and call South Cypress off of the bank, but Lang doesn't think he can do that anymore. He consults Saab on the idea, but after another glance, things look clear. Lang gets Saab to call Zeek (his son) to nonchalantly check on the South, but they're doing corner stores and races. Zeek pulls up on Lang and Saab outside the bank, Lang drives off annoyed that Zeek lied. Lang calls Zeek to check, but he says they're not interested in hitting Paleto.

Lang calls Edgar to sarcastically tell him to hurry, Lang goes in the bank to speak with a DOC officer. Osvaldo calls to offer Chatterbox to Lang, but Lang doesn't want him. They brag about Chatterbox being heartbroken, Osvaldo says that it's his anniversary today. Lang has ideas, but someone pulls up to the bank and interrupts him. Lang presses the person, who tries to drive off. Lang shoots at them, chasing them down the highway. Lang tells Edgar to call off the job for today, and they meet on the side of the highway.

Edgar offers to to get the job done later tonight, Lang approves but hopes that they can try again tomorrow with Martin. Lang and Saab drive back into the city, Lang heads to bed.
