12/26/2024 Kick Recap - "Happy Birthday, Lebron"

Lang gets some errands done and puts more GPUs in the butcoin farm. Luciano calls to finally get the old butcoin farm warehouse transferred, Lang needs a new tablet, but officially makes the trade. Luciano tells Lang that CJ got caught in some Edgar drama and got shot, Lang wants to catch up with her to get the details. CJ wakes up, so she tells Lang the story about how she was spending time with Edgar and got caught up in his mess. Apparently, Edgar shot Nino last week, so Hydra was taking the bounty on Edgar and mistakenly took CJ down with him. They apologized and gave her molotovs as compensation, CJ doesn't think it's war since she got into the situation by choice. She jokes that Edgar thinks Lang is the 'dark lord', and was mostly enjoying his company. Lang gives CJ his opinion on Hydra, and how they are naturally deceptive. Lang is concerned with Edgar stirring up all the different groups, and getting them involved in things they don't expect. They hope to get a Maze Bank done if Martin is around later.

They run into Bubbles at the Forge and Lang gets a recap of all the food he had over the holidays (Bubbles is fat now). They quickly take care of a money run, Bubbles beats up Lang's car a little too much. Bubbles needs to do some moonshine for their oxy, so they head into the sewers and help him look through trash while he cooks. Larry is currently on a vow of silence for Lebron's birthday. Larry joins them in the sewers, CJ makes fun of Lang's shoes, Lang doesn't understand why CJ doesn't wear shoes. Flippy calls to meet with Lang, Martin is awake to help gather supplies for Maze Bank. Flippy calls to meet at the Jetty, Lang heads over alone.

Flippy starts the talk joking about Lebron's birthday, as a Steph Curry fan. Flippy explains how the issue with Edgar went down, and their misassumption in shooting CJ. Flippy is concerned that Edgar is mixing with too many gangs and that it might blowback on a multiple group war against Hydra. Lang doesn't think anyone in Cypress should be hanging with Edgar, and doesn't have issue with Hydra's mistake.

Lang leaves, trying to reach Edgar and get some answers, but he doesn't pick up. Lang returns to Cypress and tries to diffuse Martin, who is yelling at CJ for who she's hanging out with. CJ says that she was offered white cards, but the person selling wouldn't give them to anyone that isn't Bubbles or Skipper. Bubbles explains that Skipper might be building out some associates, but he just offered to handle business. They stop by the bank and Larry gets into an argument with some old friends. Lang and CJ consider shooting them or throwing molotovs, but Larry tells them not to. Bubbles takes a call and puts on a a heavy spanish accent that confuses Lang. CJ and Larry joke about Bubbles making connections with different identities.

They want to do a Cash Exchange, so they stop by the Utool for duffle bags and argue about basketball legacy. They stop by the food court for some food, and to look for a hostage, Lang get's pulled over by Officer Ventura and a few bike cops. Lang doesn't have time for this, so he flees the traffic stop. They find a hostage nearby and bring her to the Cash Exchange, Lang goes to get gas while they start. The cops arrive at the gas station while he's pumping gas, and follow Lang back to the heist. Lang handles negotiations with Officer Nekoda while Bubbles and CJ hack the back. After getting the cash and the white card (?), they flee the scene and the chase begins.

Lang tries to cook for a bit, Martin begins to help them swap out. First CJ, then Bubbles, Larry tries to have faith in Lang but makes him laugh too much. Martin scoops up Lang and Larry last, but Lang malfunctions and falls out of the car??? Martin drops Larry and Lang at the sewers, Larry takes Lang to the underground medic to get back on his feet. CJ picks them up to help Martin and Bubbles still in the chase.

After a little longer, Martin eventually escapes the cops and Bubbles gets helped back on his feet. Larry wants to buy a car, Lang tells him that he should pay Octo back first. Martin wants to take Lang's parts out, but Lang doesn't want to do that yet. Larry gets a call from Franky (the greatest scottish vago to ever live), but Lang doesn't remember him. Junior has a gift (some money) for Larry, Lang doesn't respect meeting with treasonists, so he'll wait in the trunk. Larry got spooked and started shooting, Lang and Larry return to the Tuner shop to meet with Martin and the rest of the crew.

Martin calls them all out for hanging out with treasonists, Larry and Martin argue about the truth. Martin says that they have been romantic and silly with the treasonists, CJ says that Martin was involved, too. Lang leaves and tries to contact Edgar, but still can't reach him. Lang runs into everyone kidnapping Zahn from the food court, so he follows them to the dam. Zahn barely gets a chance to explain himself, so Lang shoots him down and throws him off the dam. As Zahn falls he says "this is for Bubbles", but quickly realizes he meant Skipper.

They drive by GAG's house and shoot at it, presuming it's going to be war with whoever Zahn rolls with. They drop everyone back in Cypress, Lang stops by the bodega to fix some racks. Lang calls Martin useless, Larry stirs, they try to make Larry do G6 for PNY cards. Buddha uses the MENU to troll them by breaking the car every time Martin enters, before eventually heading to bed
