12/31/2024 Kick Recap - "Be Frank, Even Though You're Lang"
Lang runs into Bjorn outside the food court who's dressed as Santa, but he's drunk. Lang gives him some noodles, and a grenade. Bjorn refuses to acknowledge their history. Andi calls Lang to meet, so he heads to Cypress. Andi gives Lang a thank you letter in the form of a book that he can't really read.
Edgar calls and Lang flames him out for involving half the city in their operation and telling people he's a 'dark lord'. Edgar is down to meet, because there's a lot to be said. Edgar arrives at the Forge and tells Lang bout his beef with Nino, his issue not knowing he had a 2m bounty, and that they made progress and got a FIB access card. Lang shares concerns about getting mixed up in Edgar's beef, and that he doesn't trust Edgar. Edgar says that Lang won't get shot like CJ did, people respect him more. They joke about Survivor, Lang holds his win over Edgar's head, while Edgar tries to convince Lang that he treats life like one big game. Lang wants to take care of this operation in a few days, but is worried Edgar won't be alive by then. Edgar yells at Lang for all the magical creatures that have been hunting him ever since they met up, Lang doesn't want to disrespect the Shaitan again.
Lang takes Edgar to his office to return the book, they hear someone break glass so they panic. Lang takes Edgar into the panic room (the studio), and Edgar tells Lang that whoever has come for them is immune. Edgar doesn't like the painting, and they find a Faceless Calling Card at the front door. Edgar thinks that Lang's been marked, and will probably be observed going forward. Lang wants to see the FIB card as a trust exercise, Edgar agrees to show him, if he promises not to steal it. Lang agrees, so they drive up to Sandy.
Edgar shows Lang the card, and tells him the story of how Jay Hobbs got it. Jay was given a riddle and solved it, finding the card as the reward. Edgar thinks they need to be equipped for this mission they are setting on. Edgar wants to hit Maze Bank to get money for their supplies, Lang explains the steps for hitting Maze, including the need of PNY cards. Edgar asks if they can split the crew between Cypress and his people, Lang needs Martin there. Edgar hopes that they can discover time travel at the end of this ordeal, but Lang warns him about time travel. They spiral in an argument where Lang cautions Edgar about the issues with time travel, facetiously noting his personal experience with it (lore).
Lang takes Edgar back into the city, bragging about how Flippy isn't that dangerous. Edgar warns Lang one last time about the Faceless calling card, and Lang heads back to Cypress. Lang calls Larry to see what everyone's up to, but they're helping Andi move to a new campsite. Lang joins them at the lumber yard where a mixture of the north and south cypress are gathered like hikers. Andi begins to have them demonstrate how to handle a bear, Lang acts like the bear. Larry doesn't do a good job during the practice, they continue on the adventure into the mountains.
