1/10/2025 Kick Recap - "Bite First"

Lang meets with Ilya by the Paleto docks to discuss what Ilya wants. Lang explains that he doesn't believe he can bring him in so easily, but plans on finding a place in the future. He sends Ilya to get connected with Edgar in secret, Ilya agrees. Lang meets Larry at the bodega and helps him sell some chicken sandwiches. Lang reminds Larry of the money he owes today, since it's friday. They call Liya to join them, and have awkward conversation while they clean money.

Lang needs food, they stop by the food court and he chats with Martha about how she's been. Larry warns the Frank's workers that their shop is going to be bombed, og enters admin mode and explodes the grill. On the way out, Liya tells Lang that her concern for them down talking Frank's might get them in trouble. Lang says that they should be more concerned with Larry's threats becoming reality. Martin calls on a headset mic because of the LA Fires displacement, they pick him up and Liya mentions that he sounds cute. Larry gets a call from his nephew, Lang is down to pick them up, but changes his mind when he learns they're part of the Manor.

Martin helps Lang collect supplies for Maze Bank. Sophia joins them to do the heist, Liya is chewing ice, and Martin helps teach them some hacks. Lang isn't confident, neither is Martin, but they commit. They head to the bank, Lang does the RC-CAR hack successfully after a re-coach from Martin, Sophia fails the back door twice so Lang makes the third attempt and fails. They leave, Lang banters Martin for being the 'wrong guy', and then crashes and ejects everyone. Lang is the only one that goes down, so Larry takes him to the hospital.

After getting back on his feet, Lang returns to the refinery to chat with Martin. Martin tells Lang that he fined CJ and went adventuring with Edgar to the FIB building to test the card they have. Edgar accused Martin for swapping the card once it didn't work, they robbed Martin in the confusion, and then Martin helped them flee the cops. Martin tries to tell Lang that he killed CJ, but she speaks on the radio right at that moment and spoils the joke. Martin tells Lang that he punished CJ by tripling her weekly dues for 4 weeks, and forced her to wear shoes for the rest of her life. Lang isn't sure about the punishment, but trusts Martin's judgement for now.

Lang calls Edgar to reprimand him for robbing Martin, but Edgar calls it stirring. Edgar is more frustrated that he was given a fake FIB card, and that they triggered Marshall's to chase them down. He's impressed with Martin's driving, but thinks it's strange that they knew about the colour of the card and taunted Edgar about it after the chase. Edgar continues to explain that a lifer he knew escaped during a breakout yesterday, Lang wants to meet but Edgar needs time to handle other business.

Bubbles calls to offer Lang his weekly kick up, Lang stops by the Paleto docks to meet Edgar and Valentino. Edgar tells Lang about Matthew, who was friends with AK (the leader of the gorillas), who was their lifer friend that also worked with Saab. Lang has many questions about context that aren't important or relevant to this recap, Tony calls to tell Lang a story about the cargo he did with the South, Lang takes the call in front of Edgar and Valentino. Edgar tells Lang about the loops he's been through with the feds and the calls he's been teased about, considering trading himself for the warrants of his other members. Lang and Edgar chat about trust, Edgar reviews Martin's lore and how smart he actually is. Edgar tells Lang about his goals to revive Aliyah, based on his deal made with Norman. He has her body in a cryochamber locked in a building, Edgar is trying to get access to the body. Lang thinks Edgar is still hiding things, Edgar argues that he revealed everything he can.

Lang wants to find the building where the body is being kept, so he can attempt to help. Edgar and Lang cycle back around to Lang's trust for Gigi, and Edgar's relationship with her. Valentino notices that his tire popped, but is unsure how. Edgar asks about why Lang isn't afraid of the Faceless, but Lang has dealt with powers in the past. Valentino tries to tell Edgar that he's wasting his time scaring Lang, but Lang reminds Valentino that he has no idea who Lang is. Lang doesn't need their well wishes, and he tells Edgar in confidence that he's not worried.

Valentino gets a call, Martin and Tony call Lang to join them for a Paleto heist, Lang is down but wants to wrap things up. Gigi pulls up to Lang's surprise. Gigi claims she was driving nearby and noticed Lang's car from the distance, but Valentino rats her out and says he notified her to come because they were talking about her. Lang looks back at Valentino and decides he's had enough, pulling his gun and shooting him down. Edgar reacts and begins to shoot at Lang, but Lang takes Edgar out, too. Lang and Gigi carry Edgar and Valentino to the end of the docks, taking their phones and leaving.

Lang calls Martin to tell him that he shot Edgar, they go meet behind an old church. Lang calls Ilya to go find Edgar and stumble upon them, using that as his way to join them and gain their trust. Lang meets Martin and recaps the story, he asks about Gigi and wants to read the phones. They want to speak to Gigi first, so they wait for her to arrive. Gigi explains that she owns the house over the docks, and was working on the decorations inside. Gigi calls Valentino for food, but offers to come clarify things if her name is brought up. Lang questions her motives, and is irritated with how weird things are getting with her. Lang has a hard time believing things are all coincidence, Gigi offers more information to help clear her suspicion.

Gigi thinks that Edgar and her are friends, which is why he keeps sharing things with her. Once when they met up, the Faceless walked into their meeting and told her about the different cards and their meanings. Martin leaves the conversation, not trying to get involved in the chat. Gigi gives Lang Valentino's phone and heads out, reminding them she won't be back around until Monday. Lang and Martin go join the North to do the Paleto heist. Martin thinks that the Norman Bones stuff is mixed in with the Faceless stuff and that makes things way more complicated. Lang isn't sure about Gigi arriving on pure coincidence, but can't explain how crazy it feels.

They arrive at the bank and Lang reads through the texts. Larry drops Saab and Bubbles, Lang tells Saab he needs to chat later. Tony arrives with Sophia and a hostage, they begin the heist. Liya calls to say she found Aliyah's sim card in the trailer stash, Lang asks her to put that side before she changes the keys. They find a card and get the loot, Lang is willing to throw the card out instead of going to the cargo. Martin asks Sophia how much money she has, she plays coy, and Lang agrees for her not to tell. Martin wanted to get a helicopter, but Lang suggests asking to borrow Zeek's.

Lang takes Saab into the refinery and recaps the entire talk, including the shooting. Ilya calls to tell Lang he's working in with Edgar in disguise. Saab tells Lang that Edgar was using Aliyah's sim card to sell class 2s, Lang is confused about Edgar's closeness with Aliyah, but Saab thinks it's just regret and remorse. Saab tells Lang that the warden and the DOC is a mess right now, Jay Hobbs is being held for life until his court case, so Saab isn't risking getting into DOC related issues at the moment. Zeek calls to tell Lang that both helicopters they have are under Luciano and Clark's name, and asks if Lang knows about the beef the North got into last night, but Lang isn't sure.

Lang returns to his office in the Forge, CJ comes by to chat about how she was stalked by the Faceless, but narrowly escaped. Lang offers to take only 50k from her and not tell Martin, but she brags about being rich, so he takes the 150k instead. Lang tells CJ that she's learning to get comfy in the worst shoes (the flippers), and she tells him about wanting to shave down her thick calluses. Lang leaves in disgust, the group debates doing the cargo heist. Gigi calls to warn Lang that she saw Edgar get taken by boat from the docks where the shooting was, Lang thanks her for the info.

Tony tries to convince Lang to do the cargo, Lang calls Martin to gauge his opinion, but Martin agrees not to. Lang jokes about going with the South and ocean dumping them at the end, Tony says he'll follow Lang's lead. Tony brings Lang to the car to do a line of coke off the spoiler, Bubbles arrives and Lang asks about the conflict that might have happened. Bubbles says they got into a fight with ex-SOB, and when they asked SOB about who these people were, they were just too ratty to be in SOB. Lang calls Edgar to taunt him about the shooting, the argument gets heated and Edgar threatens Lang and his whole crew. Lang brags about knowing that he met with the Faceless, Lang says his biggest mistake was not trusting Lang fully in the first place. Lang tells them that Edgar started the conflict, so they're on defense.

Edgar calls back to threaten Lang about sending a spy named Gordon (Ilya). Lang plays clueless, Edgar asks if Lang knows Ilya, and Lang admits that he was in the crew and got blooded out a few days ago- Edgar goes silent and hangs up the phone. Gigi calls to relay the last bit of information she has, they agree for her to still play double agent and continue to relay what she can to Lang.

Lang calls Edgar back from his previous phone to relish in their taunts. Edgar claims Lang has revealed his hand, and that he always has something to hide. "A measure of a man is his enemies, and I believe I have finally made a really good one" says Edgar, Lang argues that Edgar and his group isn't worth anything and threatens to kill them. Edgar tells Lang that "better men than you have tried, and I'm still standing". Edgar and Lang threaten each other back and forth, Lang brags about having all the sim cards, Edgar tells him to give them to the police. Lang gives Edgar one last warning before heading to bed for the day.

Ilya calls to tell Lang that tossed his previous phone and simulated getting kidnapped for 'trying to help Edgar' to keep his disguise. Lang warns him that Edgar will be suspicious and might attempt to kill him. Bubbles calls to check in with Lang, Lang doesn't want to do the cargo and wishes him well.

Buddha cloaks and follows Edgar around, calling him to mess with him. He threatens Edgar, claiming he put a bomb in his car while they were inside their house, and then blows up the car. Edgar and Tre Pas argue about the choices they made involving Lang, he calls back to continue to spook them. Edgar holds up a random in the street, thinking he's a spy. Lang calls Edgar back to gloat about crazy he is, Edgar threatens to shoot the man he found in the street, but Lang distracts them by blowing up the person they left behind in the house. Lang calls back once more to joke about the house being Tony Corleone's old house, and then heads to bed finally
