1/14/2025 Kick Recap - "The OG of OGs"

Lang takes care of some errands and tries to sell the RSX to Hazel, but Hazel checks the VAFs (2/3) and wants it cheaper. Lang and him barter prices over text, Ilya calls to meet. Lang takes Ilya from the docks under Gigi's Paleto house, and they chat about how Ilya's been working in with Edgar. Ilya was in Valentino's car yesterday, Lang is impressed how he's being used. Edgar went to jail after a job yesterday, Ilya and Lang agree that Ilya should earn as much trust as he can.

Hazel agrees to 650k, Lang brings the car to Tuner and Hazel tries to back out of the deal. Lang threatens to shoot Hazel for wasting his time, Hazel claims he doesn't have the entire amount right now. Lang continues to threaten him, giving him a few minutes to go get the money or else. Hazel returns and takes Lang to the bank, Lang gets the 650k and drives off with the car. He does a circle around the block and returns to Hazel who is sitting on the curb, taking him back to Tuner and transferring the RSX (goodbye Sandal).

Lang tries out a new vehicle and commits, Octo offers to sell him the car and they head into the office. Lang tells Octo not to give Hazel any of the money from the deal. Lang signs the papers, Larry picks up Lang with CJ. CJ tells them that Skipper got a call from the Faceless, revealing that Edgar told the Faceless about everything they discussed in the tunnels. Lang stands on business, claiming he's a bigger threat than anyone else in the city, and yells at Larry for stopping at red lights. Lang wants to vote, so they stop by City Hall. Lang votes for Silas Moreno for mayor, and claims he took his time voting (he played a guessing game).

They pick up Lang's new car(Turismo2) from the apartments, and take it to Mosley's for some modifications. Lang calls down a mechanic, Leon tells Lang about the Kortz business market having car part boxes for sale. Leon takes Lang to the bank to grab cash for the mechanic and tells Lang to get an engine he already has (3.0 Flat 6). Carmine arrives right as the mechanic finishes the work on the car, Lang reverses into Carmine and drives off. He crashes on the bridge towards Cypress and ejects, Leon finds him and helps get him back on his feet.

CJ calls Lang to help, they blew up a police car and they're being chased. Bubbles offers to turn himself in, but Lang gives him a Don order not to. CJ relays that he's in handcuffs, Lang is embarrassed. Larry joins the radio and they notice there are police outside of the Forge, Larry tells the cops that it's private property and that he's clean. Lang wants to shoot the cops, Larry calms him down. Lang, Larry, and CJ argue about Bubbles turning himself in. Larry explains that it was an accident, but Lang refuses to accept that anyone from the North would turn themselves in. Nino calls to meet, Larry is sure that Bubbles didn't go to jail so Lang makes him check the newspaper. Bubbles went to jail for 15 months, so Larry begins to fold.

Lang and Larry joke about 'Luciano' telling someone to "go die somewhere else" because he had a clean record (this was actually Lang). Lang and Nino chat about the political landscape, Tilly Winters being involved in the FIB related issues, and Nino realizes CJ is undercover. Larry interrupts their talk, Lang makes him leave their private conversation. Nino goes on to explain how he argued with Tilly about her communication with Edgar, and Brandon Valentino. Lang comes to a realization that Valentino had history with Penny and Pegasus. Nino includes that he killed Myles (the driver) by forcing him to overdose on oxy. Nino continues, pressing Edgar for including Tilly in his complications, Tilly gets mad and tells Edgar that Nino's threatening to kill her. When Edgar and Nino met to discuss things, that's when CJ was accidentally shot. CJ told Edgar about his bounty, and Nino goes on to include names from different groups that Edgar has collected for his own group.

Lang offers Nino the phones he got from Edgar and Valentino, Nino cackles and accepts. Lang questions Larry about his attitude, he crashes and ejects everyone, and leaves Larry to walk home for being disrespectful. Robin calls to say that the Judge filed during summary judgement this morning and he should be getting his car (Penguinmobile) back within 24 hours. Lang wants the parts in the car as well, if not they plan on suing the PD for the costs. Lang grabs the phones from the Forge and brings them to Nino.

Nino has more to share with Lang: Officer Slacks was investigating someone discussing Nukes, now Edgar is telling people about Nukes, so Nino believes it's related. As of yesterday, there were attacks on Judges and transactions of high caliber weaponry. Nino asks if Lang is interested in that kind of stuff, and they agree to keep each other looped in about Edgar and his business. Lang finally takes the call from Bubbles, he tries to explain how he woke up on smoke and took the consequences for his actions. Lang isn't satisfied, and tells Bubbles to never turn himself in ever again. Robin calls to say he can pick up the car from Greyson at city hall, Lang heads over.

The car still has all the Stage 4 parts, Greyson transfers the car back into Lang's ownership, and he thanks Robin for his work. Lang takes the Penguinmobile straight to Tuner and meets one of the Project R (Tony's repair shop) mechanics to help strip the parts. Lang makes small talk with Kitty and Octo about the racing scene, while the mechanic collects the parts from the Penguinmobile. Larry calls to say AIR-1 flew over the Forge and taunted them, Lang brings his new Turismo2 to Tuner and gets the parts upgraded. Lang calls Edgar to question him for yapping to people about his plans, and then continues to threaten him. Edgar says he has a secret weapon, he found 'Lang's failed experiment'.

Lang takes the Turismo2 for a test drive, flipping it after going 186, but surviving. He continues, crashing into the cops and ejecting. The cops try to help Lang back to his car, but he refuses. CJ throws a molotov at some cops, Bubbles radios for some help and Lang rushes over. Lang doesn't know where CJ and Larry are, Bubbles thinks they're already down. Lang parks the car outside Snr Buns and runs over to help, Lang runs into two cops and shoots them until they both go down. Lang talks shit to the cops while they help secure his wounds. Lang tells Veronica (the EMS) that this is Larry's fault, she offers to kill him for Lang. Lang threatens to kill Officer Kev, swearing to remember his voice.

Lang gets taken into the MRPD interrogation and demands to be uncuffed. Lang and Officer McNulty banter about their outfits, and the dodging Lang does for the recording device. Eventually they get to the point of the interrogation, McNulty asks about the Faceless card marking Lang for death. McNulty shows his own blue card, but asks what Lang did to get marked. McNulty says that he's not afraid of the Faceless and is doing everything he can to resolve it. He questions Lang for being afraid, but Lang stands on business. McNulty ends the recording, disappointed they couldn't work together to get more information about the Faceless, Lang demands to be sent to jail. Lang calls Edgar from jail with a voice changer, but reveals that it's Lang and laughs. Lang tells Edgar to tell the Blue Face off on his behalf, Edgar plays coy.

Buddha changes characters and learns about the Faceless keeping Officer Beric hostage. He becomes a rat and runs around the room, eventually flying around and watching more people. He finds Teddy in his warehouse and starts blowing things up around him. He tries to mess with a few more people, but doesn't find good opportunities for it
