1/16/2025 Kick Recap - "I'm Hulking Out!"

Lang steals a car from the jail parking lot and swaps into new clothes and his new car at the apartments. Running into CJ outside the Forge, CJ tells Lang that she put up a few cameras outside the Forge. When she pinged Marlo to come help, she pinged Edgar by accident. Edgar called to ask about the ping, she apologized about the mistake. Lang presses her to see if it really was a mistake, but ultimately understands that it probably was coincidence. Lang asks Martin if he has another engine they can put in the Turismo, but Martin laughs. Lang is disappointed they have no money washing, but doesn't realize that they've cleaned all their cash.

Lang meets Martin and Bubbles at Tuner and shows them the new car, they move Bubbles' engine into Lang's new car to test. Lang calls Martin a nerd, and then tries to convince Bubbles to change his car colour from orange. Lang is happy with the engine swap, but wants to test out a 100mm Turbo. He calls around the city looking for it, but can't seem to find one. Arush calls to give Lang notice that they're beefing with the Besties, so to warn the north in advance. Lang is pleased with Arush finally standing on business, Arush has had enough.

After all the mechanic work, Lang and the North head out to do some money runs. Ilya calls looking for Edgar, and tells Lang that he's got antibiotics for the infection he has. Ilya informs Lang that he might only have a couple days, since the medication isn't working. Lang informs the North about Ilya, he's depressed about losing him. Lang calls the company he chatted with at the Kortz event, he's going for an interview for an internship later. Liya mocks Lang for becoming a mall cop, Martin warns her for being disrespectful.

Lang gets pulled over by Carmine, and they banter in the traffic stop. They are let go, and they get Sofia for the Fleeca job. CJ gets pulled over and chased for driving without a license. They agree to start the Fleeca and bring the chase to the job. Martin thinks Lang is dressed like Bruce Banner. They successfully grab a hostage and hit the bank, but a short scuffle during the chase sends Martin flying and then run over. They all hop out to try and rescue Martin, but the cops secure him in a vehicle, Liya gets cuffed in the process. They swap radios and try to go back for Martin and Liya, but ultimately decide against it.

Audrey from SecuroServe calls Lang for his Internship interview, Lang heads over. Officer Peach calls to tell Lang that Future might have a 100mm Turbo, but Lang will never do that deal. Lang is nervous, CJ offers him some whiskey, but realizes she left it at the Forge. CJ shares that if she doesn't drink, she'll get anxious and crash out. Seth, who took Lang's information at the Kortz Center, greets Lang and CJ at the front desk. Lang meets Junior, and begins his interview with honest about how he's 'great' with people. Junior clarifies that SecuroServe isn't a security company, but a marketing and investment strategy business.

Pheobe and Seth join them for the interview, Pheobe questions Lang's business experience and history. Lang details his history working in kitchens, and his ability to yell at people. She asks an apocalyptic question about who Lang would save, Lang would save the northerners, and the SecuroServe employees. They ask Lang about his next viral marketing idea, which includes Dwayne the Rock Johnson. They ask him what he would sing for Karaoke night, and Lang picks any Taylor Swift song. They want Lang to value his life more than any of his peers, they aren't critical of sick days or emotional days off. They have interest in opening a food stall and offer him the opportunity to manage that, and then run through the list of businesses they already own and manage. Lang gets an idea of their day to day operations and how best he can fit. Lang reminds them that CJ is also interested in getting hired, so they take a moment to speak privately.

Lang presses CJ for wearing burnt bread to the interview, and then reminds CJ to lie like he did. They hire Lang, and send him the contract for the internship. For his first task, Lang has to interview CJ. CJ details her job history and Lang questions her professionalism while working at Frank's. Lang asks about her shoes and her preference, CJ lies. Lang gives CJ a crazy, layered, hypothetical situation that confuses her, and ultimately scares the SecuroServe employees listening in. SecuroServe take a short sidebar to discuss things, Lang tells them that his entire life is based on the recent films he's watched. They shortly discuss how capable CJ is and if the situations Lang discussed are realistic things to worry about, deciding to hire CJ. SecuroServe plans to meet with Lang and CJ again to give them next steps.

Ilya calls to tell Lang that Clark texted about his regret for shooting Ilya. Lang tells Ilya that the South is at war with the Besties, Ilya is astonished. Ilya wants to call Clark, and Lang wants to listen to the call, so they meet. Lang stumbles on moonshine stills and informs the police. Liya calls Lang from prison upset about how bad it smells, Lang reminds her to be dominant. Lang gets depressed overhearing Ilya's call with Clark, and after the call reminds him that this might help bring Ilya to the North. For now, Ilya should find his way into prison and meet with Edgar to continue to gather information.

Lang calls Clark to twist the knife, Clark agrees that Ilya was right and he regrets having him blooded out. Lang stops to get food with CJ and complains to the staff working there who ask about his day. Lang and CJ destroy a cop car on the way out of the food court, he races back to Cypress after realizing he has money from the bank still. Lang crashes on the bridge and ejects CJ, finding her in the dumpsters below. To help make her feel better, he takes her shoes off and puts her in the car. After getting her back on her feet (literally), and getting scolded by Veronica Mars for parking by the door, they head to the Forge.

Martin tells Lang that Tony took one of their benches, the materials, and all the good car parts and tires they had. Lang calls around looking for Tony, threatening to take it all back. Martin calls Octo, but he doesn't have keys to the shop. Sofia calls to confirm that she knew about Tony taking the stuff, but was unsure how they were to benefit from it. Sofia brings Martin and Lang to the repair shop that Liya owns, they search through the stashes until Tony calls to explain. Lang rallies the North to the Forge to meet with Tony, but he stops to use the washroom when they arrive.

Martin and Tony argue about the missing parts and materials, Lang returns to Martin extremely upset. Martin explains how unsure he is and what he can punish Tony with, Lang calls Tony to figure out what's going on. Lang argues with Tony about the same things Martin said, and for disrespecting Martin. Tony explains where the parts were, and what he took. Tony asks Lang if he's around for the Redline heist, but Lang won't be there. Lang suggests taking Martin, but Tony doesn't want to bring Martin if there is friction between them. Tony sends 170k for the benches and the materials that he took, just to move passed the issue. Lang thanks Tony for the money and makes him apologize to Martin so he can be the bigger man.

Liya tells Lang that she saw Jay Hobbs in jail and got spooked by people being suspicious, so she dodged fights and got out without issue. Lang spots Larry and questions him for speaking to the cops. Lang realizes that Martin and Tony are speaking, so they try to spy from downstairs. Larry gets upset with how close Lang is to him, Larry sends a picture comparing his outfit to Bruce Banner's outfit. Larry and Liya twat the photo, Lang realizes that the photo is of him with a Class 2 in the back of a Fleeca, so he yells at Larry. Larry goes to chat with Andi, Lang makes fun of his outfit as he leaves. Andi makes sure Lang sees her text about not telling the South of his plans to separate.

Buddha goes invisible and starts exploding things in the Forge to scare Liya, CJ, and Sofia. After accidentally exploding CJ, he teleports to Carmine and pops his tires, and mauls him as a panther. Teleporting to Harry, he flings him around during a traffic stop. Teleporting to Larry and Andi, Larry gets pushed into the water and they argue about who's fault it was. He finds Capped triyng to set up for Tony's heist at the airport and helps him escape the cops as a Monkey. They drive around in the Delorean for a bit until the cops leave. Buddha teleports to Tony and shanks Octo and a cop near the Repair shop, and then teleports to CJ and shanks her before logging off.
