1/20/2025 Kick Recap - "Ain't Easy Being Cheesy"

Lang gets changed and steals a car from prison, heading to the Forge to get re-equipped. Sofia tells Lang that they were able to put down the satellite, but they are unsure what to name the strain. Lang decides to name it "Harry Brown", because "Sleepy Kushy" would stir too much. Liya tells them that the Besties have set up a mechanic shop in Cypress. They remind Lang that they're at war still, and the Besties are offering extra discounts if you twat "Fuck Cypress". Lang leaves to handle the Besties, he calls CJ for a molotov.

Lang notices his car parts expired, he calls Martin to put a new gearbox in his Sultan. As Martin arrives, he tells him about his plan to drag the North into the war with the Besties. They return to the Forge and CJ pulls Lang aside to chat about her weekend. She tried to avoid it as much as possible, but CJ met with Norman Bones again. Lang tells her she's digging further into the hole, CJ says that Norman offered for her to bring people to him to kill, and they don't have to be Cypress. Lang is concerned for her, but she continues. CJ was also stalked by the Faceless , Lang doesn't have advice for her, but wishes her luck. After a quick nap to fix his phone, Lang calls Clark to see how the war is going.

Clark claims they're about to push the Besties, so Lang heads over to the theatre to watch. He gets distracted learning about the actual theatre room and puts on the GTA 6 Trailer to watch. Leaving, he calls Clark who says they were pushed on Cypress and already had the gun fight. Lang meets Martin at the Tuner shop, but wants to ruin the crew's week, so they call up a meeting at the Forge. Lang realizes they're announcing the election results, so he postpones the meeting and heads to the Observatory. He arrives late and learns Nino and Mumbles won, expressing his disinterest in clowns, to a clown. Lang calls everyone back to the Forge for a meeting, telling Martin that Larry is getting shot if he is disrespectful.

Lang questions what everyone else did last week, Larry highlights that he went to jail and lost his clean record. Lang tells them that the Mayor's won, but they lost. Larry isn't sure what that means, he calls Martin up to speak. Martin presses everyone for not working hard and fines them 50-100k based on if they admit to working hard or not. Sofia claims she worked hard, Martin doesn't fine her because he believes that she actually did work. Lang reminds them that they're lucky to have Sofia, she details all the work she did. Martin tries to relieve CJ of her shoe punishment, Lang sikes her out by denying the change. CJ asks where to put the money when Lang isn't around, Lang says to leave it in his office and shoot Tony if they find him in there stealing. Lang tells everyone to prepare for the Maze Bank, and threatens Larry to speak up, but he refuses.

Martin and Lang reflect on faltering during the meet, Martin compares Lang to the Hulk when he couldn't get angry. They agree that Lang needs more punching bags in the crew, he likes these people too much. He takes time to reflect about his shift in emotions, while heading to meet Ilya (who called shortly before the meeting). Lang is surprised that Ilya lost an eye, Ilya explains that Edgar thinks he has amnesia and tried to jog his memory. Lang gives Ilya some advice on how to remain careful with Edgar, and nearly offers to give him a hug, but doesn't.

Lang meets the North at the Forge to prep for Maze Bank. He heads to the bank and grabs his unemployment cheque (13k), and climbs onto the roof to get in position. Lang finds someone roof running and dances with them, CJ notices, so Lang fines her 25k for bringing it up. Lang completes his hack, but Bubbles fails the back door and trips the alarm, so they leave. Lang calls Martin disappointed, Martin thinks Bubbles is just nervous. They regroup for an immediate Cash Exchange.

Lang and Martin yell at everyone on the radio for not being locked in, Bubbles brings the hostage to the cash exchange. Lang realizes he's met Natalia Omar before (the hostage). They get mad at Bubbles for kidnapping a doctor, but Natalia understands the way of the city. Lang tries to convince Natalia to sell them medical supplies, and gives him his name "Martin Banks". Natalia tells them that she designed the Kortz Center, Bubbles and Martin break into the back and find 3 PNY cards. Larry calls Lang to the bodega because something really bad happened. Clark calls to tell Lang how the war is going, offering Lang to join, but Lang refuses.

Larry begins telling his story about how he got pinged from the Faceless, but Lang realizes that Dubois is listening to them talk. Dubois tries to tell Lang he's just security, but Lang beats him down with a crowbar. Lang beats Dubois downed body while Larry 'doesn't watch', they carry Dubois to the car and attempt to get rid of the witness. Lang takes Dubois' body to Legion Square park, planting random items on him to 'make it look like an accident'. Lang and Larry continue their discussion on the patio gardens. Larry thinks the Faceless is trying to scare him, Andi questioned Larry about the Faceless, and gave him advice on how to stay safe. Larry tells Lang that Michael Simone warned him, but when he asked for his help, Michael said that he was out of the business and doesn't have access to the weapons and money he had before. Lang presses Larry for trusting Michael Simone and yapping about this secret. Lang gives Larry Dubois' ID and threatens him until he's convinced to disguise himself.

They race back to the Forge in fear, Larry gets a ping from the Faceless at the Forge. Lang finds broken glass and muddy footprints in his office, calling everyone over. Sofia accidentally shoots CJ in the panic, everyone freaks out. Saab arrives in camo, they follow the trial of footprints to a RED Faceless Card. Everyone claims that it's not for them, and they rush into the 'safe room' (the studio). The card was meant for Larry, Martin hands him the card, Lang is worried that someone snitched on Larry's snitching. Saab suggests killing Larry, but after some yelling, he explains his plan for Larry to fake his death. Martin suggests Larry disguising himself as Barty Banks, his brother. Andi calls to chat, Lang tells them all to wish Larry well as he might not make it back.

Lang asks Andi if she's working with the Faceless, and questions why she spoke to Larry. Andi tells Larry that he completely miscommunicated things, and that Skipper told her to speak to him. They wonder why Skipper would tell Andi, but Andi claims that he confided in her since dealing with Norman Bones. Lang confirms that Andi was told about Larry snitching, Andi was upset with him for telling her in the first place. Andi presses Larry for getting him a disguise and involving her AND Michael when he's clearly forgotten everything. Larry throws the card away and takes accountability as he finally remembers everything he discussed with Andi. Lang walks away, Larry tries to stop him and apologize, but Lang tells him that he's getting everyone around him killed. Larry threatens to crash out, and they wish Andi well incase it's the last time they see her.

Lang regroups with the North as they're hitting a Fleeca, relaying that when they start being hunted by the Faceless, that it's Larry's fault. Martin apologizes for yelling at Sofia, Lang fines him for it. Tony calls to check in, Lang explains the CJ that they're probably dead. Tony arrives and gives them a bunch of stage 3 and 4 parts, recommending that they don't use all stage 5 parts. Lang tells Martin that Tony's gifts are from a guilty conscience, Martin agrees and thinks that it's fine. Everyone groups up to clean some cash, Lang crashes on the way. They chat about smoking vapes, Lang thinks they should smoke cigarettes instead.

CJ offers them whiskey, Lang crashes because Bubbles keeps ripping fat clouds in the car. Liya gets drunk by the time they arrive at the money run truck, she pukes and falls over. Bubbles offers to drive for her, so they follow along. Lang pits Tony and Saab off the road, Tony complains about Lang being a bad driver. Lang is upset that they are turning the money run into 16 step adventure. Buddha throws Tony's car off the road, Saab asks for him to do that the next time they're in a chase. Lang drives with CJ wildly back to Bahama Mama's, CJ calls SecuroServe to check in. Liya hands off the money to Tony, and they go find Bubbles' truck.

Lang mishears Bubbles and threatens him, Liya keeps drinking, CJ tells them about her dyslexia. Lang crashes on the highway and ejects everyone, the group shoots the already dead local and drives off. They grab Bubbles' truck and race back into the city, Lang crashes into someone and flings his car into the forest. They flip the car several more times on the way to pick up Bubbles, Lang claims it's because he's high. Liya drives terribly, so Lang gives a Don order for CJ to drive. They drop Liya and Bubbles at the Forge, Lang and CJ head to their job.

Lang and CJ try to get oriented at their job, but are distracted by the stage and musical instruments in the Hub. Lang grows paranoid of someone following them outside, but gets questioned if he's high. The Manor pulls up and kidnaps someone, Lang calls the cops on them. They are handed the Hub pamphlet and some cigarettes, CJ smokes for the first time. Lang tells them about having his own record label in his gang hideout, and then forgets where he is. They are offered water, but Lang orders some whiskey so CJ serves him. Lang and CJ are asked to lay down, and they are shortly waterboarded. Phoebe arrives and realizes they crashed into her on the highway, Lang continues to be really high.

Lang crashes the car on the way back to Cypress, Junior calls CJ to remind them they still have their jobs, and requests which business they want to be assigned to- Lang picks the Hub. They return to Cypress, Lang wishes CJ well,becomes a crow and flies away. Buddha returns to hear CJ telling Sofia about the monkey that stabbed her, so he turns into the monkey and chases them around. He teleports back to the Hub and stabs someone, before running away and logging off
