2/10/2025 Kick Recap - "Word On The Street"
Lang finds a drug table in the Nest and calls Larry down to get rid of it. Larry can’t pick it up and asks if it can stay since he’s close to perfecting his recipe. They talk about the disappointing Super Bowl and weekend drama—The Besties blooded out Jay Hobbs after a conflict with Future. Lang jokes about Jay calling 4Head "Aubrey," noting that this level of disrespect nearly started a war between the North and the Besties last week. Jay calls to remind Lang he’s still alive, and they banter about snitching before the conversation shifts to Edgar being dead.
Lang checks in on CJ, who’s riding around with Tony but agrees to meet him at the Nest to chat. Max calls to invite Lang to his bar, where his new casino games are set up, and Lang agrees to stop by later.
Lang calls Jay back to see if he has any equipment to sell and wants to follow up. Tony and CJ arrive, and Lang pulls CJ aside for a private chat. She tells Lang she’s been seeing Pixie, which he prefers for her mental health. Lang informs her that Jay has equipment they can use for the jailbreak. CJ mentions that the DOC tried to fake Cassie’s death over the weekend after the Lifer conflict got out of hand. Lang tells CJ that love is bad for business, realizing mid-thought that Luciano left his wife to be with Lang, only for Lang to leave him, too. CJ shares a suspicious story about riding along with some of the North during a public quest from the Faceless. Lang asks if Martin has been around, but she dodges the question.
Lang heads to Max’s bar and is impressed with the decor and secluded upstairs area. He plays a 10k hand of blackjack and wins, sparking his interest in investing in the property. Feeling lucky, he commits to another hand and wins 40k, then moves to the roulette table. Lang bets the entire 40k on a mix of numbers and loses. Max notes he owes 10k, so Lang re-bets, adding more numbers, bringing his debt to 70k. He keeps doubling down, eventually owing Max 190k. Max takes Lang to the bank to pay it off, and Lang twats out a terrible review.
After paying Max, Lang heads back into the city and finds Larry and Saab at the Forge. Lang questions why Saab dresses like Marlo, but Saab insists Marlo dresses like him. Larry realizes his bricks of fentanyl are missing, and Lang tells him he got rid of the table. Larry holds in his frustration. He complains that Jonah (his Jesse Pinkman) gave the bricks to Saab over the weekend, but Saab doesn’t remember where they went.
Lang and Larry beat up Saab before questioning Jonah outside. Jonah says he gave the 51% fentanyl brick to Saab, who claimed he wanted to try a run by himself. Saab doesn’t recall this and insists he gave it back. Jonah recounts the events in detail, confirming Saab took the brick. Saab thinks he returned it, suggesting it might be in Sofia’s car. Lang starts counting down. Saab suddenly remembers a parked car near City Hall and claims the brick is there. Lang shoots and injures him.
Saab searches but still can’t find the brick. Lang threatens to kill both him and Jonah if they don’t recover it soon. Eventually, Saab finds the brick and all the missing money. Lang calls him to the office and reams him out. Saab explains the money was never missing—it was just in a different box—and he’s ready to hand the brick off to Larry. Lang warns Saab that if this ever happens again, he’s dead.
Arush calls, and Lang immediately argues that towing isn’t a real job. Arush mentions running into Jacob and suspects the new heist might just be Jacob trolling the entire city. They argue about what Arush actually does for Cypress, with Arush claiming he does everything. Lang asks for any class-2 equipment, but the South is empty.
