2/11/2024 Kick Recap - "Do Your Thing, 21"

Lang tidies up the Nest and finds a better spot for the drug table. Depositing the kick ups into his account, he's pleased with the crew's earnings. Lang finds CJ, Liya, and Skipper at the Forge, checking in for the day. CJ reminds Lang that fines have been doubled, so they should be more careful. Lang wants to hunt down Officer Collins for taunting him yesterday during the arrest. CJ tells them that she bought the light house for 2 million dollars, Lang thinks she's crazy so they want to go see the property.

After arriving at the house near the light house, they learn they cannot enter the building. They review CJ's contract and yell at her for getting scammed. They continue exploring towards the lighthouse, until CJ opens it for them. The lighthouse floor is covered in bones, they get spooked and run. Returning to Cypress, they decide to get a few money runs done since there is cash in the clubs. CJ shares some new history, she was forced to eat fast food and competed in piano competitions. During the last drop off, Chatterbox crashes into them and complains about their poor driving skills, Lang yells back until Chatterbox realizes that it's him. They drive off, afraid that clowns are going to jump them while they have the cash.

Lang finds Saab in the Forge kitchen, questioning him about his earnings this week and if Jonah works for him or not. Saab says that he gives Carlos and Jonah weed to push on behalf of his Hookah lounge, not working them into Cypress. They pass by City Hall to read over the Penal Code changes, Lang is surprised by all the changes to the charges.

They head over to the jewelry store, but it's been hit already. CJ tells Lang that SecuroServe is having a meeting soon, Tony calls to check in after yesterday's antics. Lang calls Jay for the equipment, but he doesn't have jurisdiction to give Lang the guns. Lang and Jay barter over what he can offer, Jay is willing to give 6 class 2s for a million dollars, and complains about the funeral costing so much. Saab radios that they're hitting a cash exchange, Lang keeps watch from the outside. Saab successfully flees the cops, Lang finds the chase boring.

Nino calls to catch up with Lang about yesterday's laptop bench trial, he agrees that Lang was right, but they need to change the laws to legalize everything so cops have to perform an actual investigation. Nino is frustrated that "rolled cash" is illegal, when you can't determine how or when it was rolled, or if it was used illegally. Nino suggests Lang going to court and fighting again with the new policies in effect. Jay calls back to offer a few guns and some mags, but disrespects Lang and laughs off his threats.

Lang brings the North to hunt down Jay Hobbs. They pull up to Jay who is standing in a parking lot with a class 2 in his hand, he thought it was going to be a 1v1. Jay and Lang continue to barter on the deal, Lang doesn't think it's worth spending more since he has no ammo. Jay thinks he can get a deal elsewhere, so he calls Hydra but they refuse. Lang commits to 260k for the deal, Jay agrees and hands off the guns. As they load the guns in the trunk, Jay remembers that one of the AKs was used during the jail break and MIGHT be beyond the 30 days, Lang wants to give him less for the guns now. Lang invites Jay to Cypress to get the cash.

Saab and CJ discuss how long it's been since Edgar died, Saab tells them that Nino requested his help to fill in pot holes, everyone laughs about how unrelated that is. Lang hands off 100k, but Jay is sure the jailbreak happened last year. Lang and the North go to get food, Sofia watches over Jay as he calls around to confirm the dates. Lang agrees to deathroll Jay for the price, 100k if Lang wins, 300k if Jay does. Jay wins, but offers a double or nothing, which he wins again. Lang threatens to ocean dump him, until they agree to a final roll, a million or nothing. Lang loses, again.

Liya and Sofia try to hide the money, Larry tells Lang he's running out of supplies to make fentanyl. Lang calls Arush to see if the South has anything, but they don't. Liya doesn't want to give Jay the money, she suggests buying him in to wipe the debt clean, and then kicking him later. Lang calls Jay up to the Nest to have a basketball wager for everything he owns. With a point reset mechanic, the wager takes too long and pauses at Lang 3-1. Lang joins the North hitting a Fleeca, but fails the hack so they have to bail.

Lang tells the North about his paused wager, Saab offers to recap the Ron Oil heist to Lang and reads him the riddle. Liya hands CJ a book she found at the light house, Sofia asks if they can heist a dog. CJ wants to put the book back, so they roll out with her. Lang wants to read the book, so he reads it all out loud. Lang throws the book off the cliff, into the water, and then pees on it. Something explodes nearby, Lang has them meditate in a circle and chant for the Stormlord. The weather suddenly changes, they continue their prayer until Lang believes it's sufficient enough.

Lang and CJ stop by the prison to chat with Cassie, who is just recovering from her near death experience. She believes she died in the ICU a few times, and came back to life. They aren't sure when next she'll be sent out on city work, and they believe they might have to use that as their jailbreak plan. They'll try to stay adaptable and do the jailbreak when she's out next, regardless if Lang is awake or not. Lang returns to the Forge and chats with the North about fentanyl and crime bosses. Lang and Larry deliver impactful quotes in a motivational sparring match, while everyone stands around and watches.

Lang heads up to the Nest, Larry comes up to work on the fentanyl. Lang wishes CJ and Sofia luck in the race event, and then changes into a crow and flies away, in front of Larry.
