2/13/2025 Kick Recap - "Sick Of The Laughter"

Lang runs into CJ at the Forge who wants to chat, she tells him that Saab and Skipper were talking about Lang's alter-egos. She is concerned with people knowing about the Guild, him being a crow, if he's the Stormlord, and if he's the Dark Lord. CJ continues to discuss the conflict between Pesto and Norman, and their issues with respecting their roles. Lang still believes she's crazy, and they joke about Pixie having a new last name. CJ tells Lang about the Lifers being on work release last night, but not being equipped enough to get the job done. She suggests breaking her directly out of prison, after a conversation with Ursula, Lang thinks that might be best as well. CJ offers to be the diversion, but Lang jokes that she'll have to be locked back in prison for life. CJ gets a call from a DOC guard who is down to help with the assist, convincing them of doing a work release during the time Lang is awake.

Lang calls someone to check on his warrant, which he has 3 of, totaling to nearly 300 months and 150k in fines. Lang tells Sofia and Larry about it, but they don't seem to care. Sofia and CJ support Lang from his despair, they stop by the food court and Lang yells at the staff and some of the customers. They return to the Forge, Saab is awake and working out, but Lang doesn't want to see him naked. Lang calls Larry to have him available for help, Larry calls out Lang for being the Shaitan. Lang wins 50k from Saab in dice, and then loses it back. They wait for CJ to join them on a money cleaning run, but she's too busy talking to the voices.

During the first money run, Larry and Jonah pull up and scare them. CJ hears back from the DOC that Cassie is not allowed to go on work release trips because she tried to escape from the VU yesterday. Lang is disappointed that she keeps creating attention to things, having to push back the jailbreak. CJ talks about the ghost of TJ Walker, Lang thinks she's crazy, but Saab has seen the ghost. After grabbing the second money run order, Lang rolls out and shoots at their car, hoping to keep them on their toes.

Sofia speaks to Lang privately about his trust for her, he thinks someone leaked his suspicions. She tries to tell him that she took his advice, doesn't spend any time with Hydra, and mostly jokes around. He reminds her that joking in some ways can get you killed, but appreciates that her effort for Cypress. Lang compliments her vehicle and her ways of earning money. CJ calls Lang to meet with Ursula outside of prison, Lang agrees and heads up to the Hydro fields. Lang gets an anonymous ping to an island off the Paleto shores, so he delays the meeting and drives up with CJ.

Lang finds footsteps leading to a circle of ammunition marked with a note. The note reads for him to use a burner phone and use the price sheet to make purchases for ammo. Lang reads through the prices, astonished at how expensive it is. He jokes with CJ about how he can pay tons of money for ammo and mags, and then get double the amount in fines from getting caught. They move the meeting to the Quarry and call Ursula to chat.

Lang, CJ, and Ursula devise a plan to do the jailbreak today. Ursula thinks CJ can dress up similar to Cassie, Lang can get her caught, and then they can do the identity swap in the prison. Lang will wait outside to 'pick up CJ' and Cassie will walk out and escape with them. Lang takes CJ to get changed, they call Saab to meet at Blarney's and Lang wins a 150k dice roll from Saab. Lang takes the money and all the ammo he got to the Forge. He returns to Blarney's and loses a dice roll for his Karuma to a new visitor, on the way to the garage he gets a new anonymous ping to a different island. Lang sells the Karuma with hopes that it gets more people down to Cypress. 4Head calls for Lang's ping, he wants to discuss some business.

Lang meets 4Head and the Besties by the docks, checking out their trunk full of magazines. They discuss what Lang might need, which is the G36 and the AK mags. 4Head offers the mag price at 18k per, but since Lang is buying in bulk they can bring it down to 15k per. Lang laughs and does the breakdown in math for what it's going to cost to shoot a cop, essentially saying it's not worth it. Future tells Lang about the materials they get from Cargo being useful to craft the mags, so if they get any, they can make better deals. 4Head says it isn't anonymous that they're sellers, but hoping Lang doesn't snitch on them.

Lang grabs Saab and heads up to prison, but they get pulled over for speeding. Saab doesn't have his license, Lang hides his to avoid his arrest. The officer offers to roll Saab for the warning, but Saab loses. Lang jokes with Saab about how he can't win dice, Saab whispers that he's 700k in debt. The officer makes Saab call Sofia to come pick up the car. After being let go, Sofia drives them around until they return to prison, where CJ calls Saab to say she got sent up for 100 months. Lang calls Ursula to speed up the process, and inform her they're parked outside.

They have to wait for CJ to work down her time, Larry calls to find out where they are, so Sofia tells him. Lang is frustrated with the way Sofia gives out information, regardless if they're from the North or not. Larry calls Lang, frustrated about the cops that were bothering him after he dropped Sofia off. Lang lets Larry vent it out (loudly), explaining that they didn't do anything to anger the cops, so it doesn't make sense they acted strange with him. Lang calms Larry down, and then rolls Saab for both of his cars and wins. Saab is very disappointed with his dice and the performance so far, Sofia laughs at him for still trying to gamble.

Sofia makes small chat with someone outside the prison. Inside, CJ and Cassie change clothes, and Ursula walks her out of the prison. Cassie, disguised as CJ hops in the car, Lang drives them to the Forge. Saab, Cassie, and Sofia chat in the Forge bathroom about the jailbreak. Lang returns from a call and tries to get Saab to have the meeting in the refinery, but he does a poor job talking about love.

Lang gives a quick breakdown of their next steps, he will tell the North, nobody is allowed to tell anyone else. Cassie and CJ will get new outfits, a new identity, and Lang will give her access to the Rooster's Rest tomorrow. Lang stresses the importance of this, since a jailbreak could be more punishing than any crime they've ever committed. Lang wishes them luck, and heads to bed.
