2/17/2025 Kick Recap - "Hiding In Plain Sight"

Lang runs into CJ at the Forge, she has a lot to tell Lang, but he wants to have his coffee first. He drops off a chunk of washed cash to a club for cleaning, and returns to the Nest, where CJ joins and recaps the weekend. Saab and Sofia had different instances over the weekend where Gemma (Cassie's new name), was taken out of the warehouse. Sofia took Cassie, as an RC-Car around Cypress, and Gigi snuck up on them and discovered her. Lang isn't impressed, but CJ continues. CJ notes that many lifers and police have contacted her about Cassie's break out, although she dodged the questions. Franky, the greatest Scottish Italian Vago to ever live, passed away over the weekend. Lang wants to hold a funeral, and is happy to charge the South for it. CJ gives Lang the new prices for ammo she was pinged to, the note says to stay off Twatter. Lastly, Edgar's cousin has been trying to meet with CJ to find out what happened, and Jacob can help kill the person with Cassie's new identity, but Lang isn't sure he wants to work with Jacob.

Lang is extremely suspicious of Sofia, Gigi, and how much the South knows. Lang is concerned about picking the right Underboss, worried that Martin might return. As they're chatting, AIR-1 flies over Cypress. Lang and CJ head to his car, Lang drives over to the broken down Rooster's Rest and they review the crew. He shares his disappointment in everyone, and reviews the pros and cons of each one of them. CJ reminds Lang of his basketball wager with Jay Hobbs, and they circle back to why Lang thought leaving Cassie in their care was a good idea. They hear more sirens, CJ admits to not handling the weekend well.

Lang calls Saab and yells at him for failing to handle responsibility, Saab argues that he was just joking with Cassie to ease her stress. Lang demotes Saab from his temporary Underboss role, CJ gets lost in the basement, and Lang realizes that the Rest isn't soundproof anymore. Lang calls everyone to the Refinery to have a North meeting, reminding Bubbles to dressing like Saab. Lang makes sure Larry is paying attention, and Liya tells the story about how she ran into someone she didn't know (Cassie) in the warehouse. Saab begins by recapping the things they did with Cassie, Larry is confused, but Lang wants them to finish before he explains it. Sofia tells her story, running into the RC-Car at Blarneys. Saab takes responsibility of this idea, but she was only honking and rolling dice. Sofia noticed that Cassie accidentally met Gigi while roaming in the RC-Car, and tried to fake that she was a new pet. Bubbles tells them that he had no idea, CJ told him to wait until monday to find out from Lang directly.

Lang tells everyone that they broke Cassie out of jail at the end of the day, thursday. Based on everything that's happened, he's not sure what their plan is going forward, but so far they are harboring a fugitive. Lang lets everyone but Saab, Sofia, and CJ leave to ream out the ones who stayed. Arush calls to have a meeting later, non-brother to non-brother. Lang isn't sure what more to do, considering ditching Cassie to save themselves. Lang calls Arush back to meet, CJ calls back to consider being the decoy for the cops. Lang tells the North to clear out the Forge, while Saab and Sofia are to move Cassie somewhere that isn't in the warehouse.

Lang meets Arush by the old Ranch, and he tells Lang that the Faceless gave him a bench to make ammo. Arush wants to have 1 person from the North and South to help assist him with handling the business, and asks Lang who he would suggest. Lang considers between Larry and Bubbles, but tells Arush to stress the seriousness of this job. Lang suggests Larry, but asks Arush for a Don favour: to provide whatever Larry yaps about in case he leaks anything or gets emotional. Arush promises to keep Lang updated and handle Larry appropriately.

Lang and CJ discuss over many calls what to do and where to put things. Gigi calls Lang to meet shortly in the oil fields, handing off a golf club to him. She has a connect with the Clowns who makes melee weapons (they got a bench for it). Lang returns to the Forge in a new disguise, finds Cassie playing games on one of the arcade machines and calls Saab to yell at him some more. CJ calls to tell Lang that they can put Cassie in the Rest and re-iterate the seriousness to the North, but Lang doesn't trust them. Lang suggests that things might be cooked to the point where they have to kill Cassie, but CJ pleads for him to decide on a better solution, if possible.

Lang, Bubbles and Liya move some of their stuff to the shed beside the Rest. CJ scares Lang into thinking that the raid is coming, Lang panics and tries to give up. He calls Saab to check in, they are hiding in a cave along the coast. They are unsure what to move out of the Forge, but Lang gets a hold of Kitty who is willing to stash their stuff, no questions asked. They meet Kitty over by the Bodega where her warehouse is, and she offers to get them stash boxes. Lang is very thankful to Kitty for helping them out.

Lang and the north head up to meet with Saab and Cassie. Larry calls to hold a funeral shortly for one of the Knox family. Lang arrives at the homeless camp and complains about this being an obvious place to hide. He re-iterates to Cassie that after laying low for enough time, they plan on getting her new identity sorted out. She has to spend time alone, and not get caught or used as a hostage. She understands and appreciates the advice, Lang might have an idea to place her some where so he'll follow up.

Lang shares his idea to speak to Nino and have her working as a security guard for the Kortz Center. They are unsure if they can trust Nino, but Lang thinks he can. They are worried about Carmine, who also works there, figuring it out. They joke about if they would trust Lang in a past life, and Lang brags about his many achievements (play Mr Lang by P Money on Spotify). They return to the city and head to the cemetery to meet with Larry for the funeral. Lang and Larry deliver powerful speeches that ramble on much longer than anyone expects. A few of the Knox family speak, and Lang tries to work in the lyrics to Rick Roll in his speech.

Shortly after, CJ asks if Lang will come with her to meet Edgar's cousin. Lang and CJ meet Benny Delgado by the docks, and Benny believes that Lang is 'the Ferryman'. He seems confused that CJ would refer to Lang as her boss, when he thought Norman Bones was her boss. Benny shows them the book that has been passed back and forth from Purgatory, to deliver a message to their world. Lang is in disbelief, requesting whatever drugs Benny has. A police boat drives by, Lang and CJ get spooked, but Benny pleads for them to help him. Lang and CJ hear Benny out, he asks about Famine, and his plans to blow up the light house. Lang laughs in agreement and leaves Benny by the docks.

CJ tells Lang that Saab left Cassie hiding under Maze Bank, Lang calls Saab and reams him out. Lang gets an unknown call to check his texts, and gets sent a picture of a crow with a riddle tied to it. Lang doesn't understand and waits for more information, eventually heading to Sandy where he believes the location is. Lang finds 5 different rifles on the ground in the sand, grabbing them quickly as he drives off.
