2/20/2025 Kick Recap - "Scared Money Don't Make Money"

Lang gets food and climbs to the Nest, finding CJ already waiting to recap him. CJ asks if Saab was given a don order to kill Marlo, which Lang admits to. CJ recaps the evening of Saab being suspicious, calling Marlo, getting shot by Marlo, and being left in the ICU. CJ was confused about how things happened, so she shot Marlo. They get interrupted by Jonah and Larry who come up to pick up some fentanyl, Larry falls off the water tower. Lang and CJ continue chatting about her deal with Norman, he encourages her to stop killing people on Norman's behalf. Larry and Jonah return to cook some fentanyl, Larry falls off the tower, again. Lang thinks that CJ can tell Norman that she killed Marlo, and that might get her off the hook. CJ tells Lang that most of the DOC quit and Warden Scotty has been trying to call her. Lang asks if CJ will be alright, since her spirits seem low, and then he falls off the water tower.

CJ takes Lang to the hospital. Lang asks the doctor if Saab or Marlo are still in the ICU, but he doesn't think so. 4Head calls to invite Lang down to the casino they opened in the Vanilla Unicorn. Lang and CJ stop by City Hall to confirm that Lang has a new warrant, Luciano calls to inform Lang that he found Courtney at Blarney's last night. After telling Courtney to leave, Courtney called Zahn to complain, and Jaden twatted negatively about Cypress. Lang isn't pleased to hear it, but thanks Luciano for the information. CJ takes Lang to prison, and they chat with some of the leftover DOC who are interested in trading the things the prisoners make.

Larry calls with a Code Red, begging Lang to pick him up from the Bodega and claims "it's not over". Lang asks CJ about treasonists at Blarney's but she wasn't there for the full story. CJ drops Lang to his car, Lang picks up Larry and takes him to the beach to chat. Larry shows Lang a folder he was pinged to that has images of them doing things, but nothing currently dangerous. Lang argues that it lacks context and mostly seems like a threat that Larry's being watched. Larry is upset, he's been keeping his mouth shut and hasn't talked about the Faceless. Lang and Larry chat about the Lakers' performance recently, thinking that Luka leaves at the end of his contract.

Lang returns to the Forge, CJ calls worried that Kitty is upset. Lang gets a call from Kitty, who is upset. Lang calls CJ back and warns her to watch her back, CJ is more upset. Lang calls around trying to figure out information about engine swapping, eventually calling Bruce who offers his best engine for 300k. Skipper doesn't think it's a good purchase, on the way over to Legion they notice cops roaming around Cypress. Lang pulls over and takes a call from Carmine, who banters about Lang's failed businesses.

Lang and Skipper meet Bruce by Legion Square, Bruce shows them an engine that can't be built (because it's missing dev work), and they decide to get a full understanding at Tuner shop. Bruce walks them through the step by step, eventually boring Lang into demanding they find a good 4-seater to fit an engine that Bruce can build. Lang takes Skipper for a ride in the G-Wagon, they agree the truck fits Lang best. Skipper asks about Courtney and other treasonists coming to Blarney's to gamble, Lang tells him they can't be allowed to stay.

They spin back to the Forge for Skipper to grab all the parts for the new engine, Lang hands it all to Bruce and gets an unknown number call from Nino. Nino tells Lang that Cassie is being linked to Cypress through CJ, or some other group he doesn't remember. Lang clarifies if they are on schedule for raid, and Nino thinks they are. Nino is willing to meet at Parson's (where Cassie is currently hiding). Bruce agrees to build the engine, Skipper sells Lang the truck for 540k. They remember to ask Bruce for two sets of stage 5 parts.

Lang passes by the police blockade at the edge of Cypress, wanting to blow it up. Lang makes small chat with Hank and Jonah outside the Forge, reminding them to shank Courtney the next time he's at Blarney's. Lang reads a twat about Luka being out tonight, and bumps into the tanker outside the Forge in distress, and explodes. Larry and the boys take Lang to the hospital. After getting back on his feet, Lang picks up his new truck (Benefactor Dubsta2) from the apartments.

Lang returns to Tuner with the boys to get the parts put in the new truck, Courtney and Lang talk shit. Lang wants to shoot Courtney on the way out, but Hydra ends up leaving before they finish work on the truck. Lang and the boys test drive the upgraded truck, they're happy with the performance changes but hopeful the engine makes it insane. CJ went to jail for throwing a molotov at the police blockade, Cassie calls for some food and to check in. Lang stops by prison after getting some food, CJ claims she told everyone she was going to crash out, but forgot to change radios.

Lang picks up Cassie from Parson's and takes her to the Rooster's Rest. They enter through the shed tunnels, into the basement, and he leads her to the main floor. Lang warns her that the Rest is infested with roof runners, so she will hear creaky sounds and foot steps. Lang goes to meet Nino, and warns Cassie not to touch anything. Nino tells Lang about what he's heard, and how Princess (the Blaine County deputy mayor and DOC guard), connected the dots between CJ and Cassie. Lang admits to breaking Cassie out, and murdering Gemma Nye to take her identity. Nino suggests getting her to work somewhere other than the Kortz Center, since the security team is mostly DOC workers. Lang wants to re-think the plan, and Nino doesn't think the cops believe in the Cypress split, especially with all the conflict the South has had with PD recently.

Lang calls CJ to discuss their options, they agree that she should join a group separate from Cypress while the heat is on. CJ heard that lifers held the DOC at knifepoint and were carried to the light house, the DOJ tried to punish Scotty and the DOC guards, so they all quit. CJ meets Lang and they continue discussing where to have Cassie work in, but Lang needs more time to think. Norman calls CJ to meet, Lang drives her back to her car, lecturing her the entire time. Larry gave Goose (the southside dog) a brick of fentanyl. Lang returns to Cypress and heads to bed.

Buddha haunts the Rooster's Rest with ghostly visions of Talon. He walks from room to room as Cassie observes in fear. She pleads with the ghost and gets lost in the basement, eventually finding the book, and the sword
