2/24/2025 Kick Recap - "Ghost Of A Samurai"

Lang and CJ meet in the water tower to discuss her court case and her raid warrant. Lang grows suspicious of the Marshalls, so they leave and drive into the mountains to continue their discussion. CJ thinks they need to move Cassie today, Marlo and Scotty have both made strange comments about Cassie, and Lang isn't sure how anyone knows about her. Jay Hobbs wants to buy Liya's old property to start a gang, and will use whatever is left of North Cypress when he wins the basketball wager with Lang, but Lang remembers that they are still on pause. CJ notes that Cassie read the books and looked at the mask in the Rooster's Rest basement, Lang is surprised. Jacob wants to meet CJ and Lang, but Lang offers the excuse of being sick since he doesn't want to get bothered by Jacob so soon. Lang wants CJ to talk about 'Talon', without saying it.

They want to go visit the Marshall's office, CJ asks if she can use explosives again, but Lang refuses to let her. They arrive at the office and Lang finds a book titled the "Plaguebearer's Gift" and reads it out loud. CJ jokes about how easily it is to find a book and read it without question (referring to her reading the Talon notes). Lang reads through the entire story, leaving his own suspicious writing on one of the pages. They hear someone in the office, as they leave Lang shoots at the door to spook them. Junior (ex-404 aka June Bug) calls Lang to ask why he was blooded out. Lang doesn't remember, but he wants to hang out with his 'day ones', like Bubbles.

Cuddles calls to inform Lang that she's processing the rings, but she wasn't able to get rose gold, she was able to get platinum instead. Lang is excited to get them, so he's happy with whatever she makes. Lang, Sofia, CJ, and Skipper gather in Forge and discuss the different things that people know. South Cypress is starting 'Hell Week', stemming from incidents they had with the cops. Skipper got arrested and interrogated over the weekend, and he (rolled poorly) told the cops about his previous work with the Faceless.

Lang meets with Cuddles and gets the beautiful Timber and Murder rings. Cuddles chats with Lang about her issues with the Besties, and the cops. Lang asks why she spit on Ilya's grave, but Cuddles explains that it was to honor him by sharing body fluid respectfully. Cuddles had a list of a few people that wanted to join the North. She continues by telling Lang about Gigi holding a meeting with all the women of Cypress shortly after the split, offering to start their own group. Cuddles is impressed with Lang's demeanor, and reflects on people missing him from the South. Lang reminds Cuddles that the door is always open, and that he does trust her, as much as she thinks he might not.

Officer McNulty calls to ask if Lang left a notebook at the Marshall's office, but Lang denies being related to it. Lang joins the North in doing some money runs, but Larry stops by a ping he got first. They are unsure why they're meeting these masked people, Larry was hoping it was a new mystical entity, but it's actually to buy shotguns. After a few successful money runs, Lang and CJ return to Larry and Bubbles being pressed outside of Bahama Mama's. Gunfire breaks out, the North goes down, and the cops arrive to handle the scene.

Lang gets taken to the hospital, and then to MRPD. Lang wants to snitch, so they put him in the interrogation room. The Officer tells Lang he's only being charged with robbing a financial institution, which is 60k and 100 months. Lang is surprised that he doesn't have a warrant from fleeing the court case, so he pleads guilty to the charge. They ask Lang about the incident, and he reminds them that he's a chill old man now. The cops reduce Lang's time and then send him up to jail.

Gary, the temp warden, banters with Lang and Skipper. Lang tells CJ he's in jail for 600 months, but she doesn't believe him. Gary calls Lang evil, another DOC agrees. Lang banters with everyone for how evil they look, and then get's to work in the kitchen. Lang pulls Larry aside to talk about what their new purpose is: snitching. Larry wants to rob the Besties back, but Lang would rather handle it in a funny way. Lang works off his time and views a storage unit Gary is using the Lifers to build. Cassie texts Lang to come by any time, so Lang calls CJ to visit her with him.

Lang gets a call from an unknown number about a rifle sale on friday. Lang tells CJ about his plan to snitch on 4Head's magazine deals, they park in the Vinewood hills and sneak into the Rooster's Rest basement. CJ questions if Lang actually believes anything she tells him, and Lang argues that some things are serious and some are not. CJ says that Saab told her something about a car and time travel, but she doesn't really remember. Lang checks if his keys finally work- they do. They find Cassie and she tells them about the ghostly visions she's been having. When she gets too spooked, she visits the 'cat in the basement', Lang tells her it's name is Meowfurion.

Lang has Cassie lead them around the basement and describe in detail what the ghosts had done. CJ is taunted by the mask, Lang breaks her focus. Cassie calls the GTTC a superhero pose, and that she read the book, but not out-loud. Cassie and CJ see a ghost walk by, Lang doesn't find anything. Cassie thinks that Meowfurion moves, and tells Lang that Saab has been inside the Rest. Lang is frustrated that Saab was brought inside, but Cassie needed food and CJ was on trial. Lang ignores the ghost of Talon who walks by, Cassie screams in horror.

Lang offers to make them some food, Cassie sits in stress. Lang pulls CJ aside and talks about what they're seeing. CJ doesn't think Lang will believe her, so she isn't interested in telling Lang about the ghosts they're seeing. Lang thinks the visions she's seeing are memories of his past, but he's unsure if he can comprehend that. Lang tells them both about the restaurant, and the organization they ran from the basement. He wanted to bury the memories, and that past. Lang knew this place was secure, but had no idea she would have these visions.

They begin the discussion about her integrating her back into society, hopefully with a crew that isn't related to them. Lang recommends that she starts with Wyatt, or Max. Lang and CJ stress that nobody can know Cassie, she must become Gemma Nye now. Lang has CJ take Cassie out and drop her off north of the city, he will sleep in the rest tonight.

Buddha follows CJ and Cassie in Admin mode, noticing the Faceless stalking them and taking pictures. He flies to the FIB building, teleporting them inside and guiding them as the ghost of Talon. He walks them to a room and sets C4 on the floor. They cut a random wire, and the C4 explodes. Buddha flies to the coast, teleports them near the water, and revives them.
