3/12/2025 Kick Recap - "Too Many Loyalties"

Lang gets a call from Arush who lets him know he left 1000 bullets in the jacuzzi. Lang grabs the bullets and stashes them in the Forge. Annoyed with nobody being awake before Tsunami, he watches trailers on his phone. Tsunami hits Lang wakes up at the apartments and runs into Officer Ventura, threatening to kill him, but decides to hit him with his car on the way out. Lang picks up Skipper from the Forge and hits CJ on the way out, they find someone (Glitch - Farenheit's other character) waiting outside of Blarney's and press him for being on the block. He claims he did a job for Saab and was waiting to follow up, but Lang shoots at his car until he races off. Skipper asks Lang if he was interrogated by the cops, because last night the Faceless told them a bunch of information about Shang and Brandon Valentino working with them. Lang is extremely confused, so they race back to the Forge and talk in privacy. Lang ignores CJ as she greets them outside the Forge, while him and Skipper run to the washer room.

Skipper continues to recap the evening by disclosing that Shang and CJ are very close and talk about the Faceless in privacy. Skipper shows Lang a video of someone being murdered with a bunch of logos flashing on the screen. Lang thinks that killing Shang will unroot CJ, but Skipper isn't sure if it will work on CJ. Lang thinks that Skipper is defending CJ too much, and reminds him that attitude will get him killed, too. They want to talk to CJ, so they head up to the Grapeseed airport hangar and ping her over. A heavy fog rolls in, Lang notices someone scurry by so he runs over and holds them up at gun point. They come across a homeless person who is looking through the garbage, Skipper seems off put that they're carrying a deer head around, but the person refers to it as their pet. Lang leaves them alone and apologizes for disturbing them.

CJ arrives and wants to tell Lang about last night, but Lang jumps the gun and asks about her relationship with Shang. After a very frustrating back and forth, CJ tries to argue that they are friends, but she doesn't trust Shang entirely. Lang doesn't think that you should be friends with people like that, and argues that she gets involved in too many things for her own good. CJ grows upset with Skipper for running to Lang about Shang's involvement with the Faceless, and then with Lang stating that she already disclosed most of Shang's involvement with Pestilence weeks ago, but he refused to hear her out. He refuses to hear her out again, by circling back to Shang, stating that he wants him dead, and that he doesn't trust CJ at the current moment for being defensive. Lang presses both of them for being friends with Shang, Skipper argues that he isn't, but CJ denies it as they argue. Lang wants to kill Shang, and hopes that he finds nothing in his phone. Lang leaves without either of them, eventually hearing from Saab who just woke up.

Lang meets Saab at a new location, starting to question him about the man he met outside Blarney's earlier. Lang presses him for sending the random man to kill a cop for him, Saab argues that he was vetting the guy, but apologizes for being wrong. Next, he asks Saab about Shang and CJ, Saab thinks they're best friends. Saab has seen CJ with Shang multiple times, he even gifted her a shotgun for free. Lang and Saab head down to the ADMC block to investigate. Saab tells Lang how they held the DOC up last night and exchanged information while they were looking for Lang. Opal told them that Lang was interrogated about Cassie, and that he gave up some information, but they weren't told what it was. Lang doesn't care about this, and brushes it off. Shang calls Saab back, he tries to arrange a gun deal as a front for them to kidnap him. Lang changes vehicles and vents to Saab while they look for Shang around the city, hoping to stumble upon him.

Lang grows frustrated looking for Shang, so he stops by city hall and votes for Princess Elaina to be the interim Mayor. Sofia calls to meet, Lang hides Saab in the back seat when she arrives. Sofia tells Lang that she stopped hanging out with Hydra, but began dating Beasu from Hades. She says that he's not very known, and she understands that her priorities are still Cypress over all. Lang is happy for her, and wishes her well in her relationship, still reminding her that 'love is bad for business'. Sofia is relieved that he's not pissed, Lang leaves and continues his search for Shang.

Shang calls Saab for the gun deal, Saab gets the money from the Forge and Lang swears to kill him if he ever takes money for anything else. Jojo greets Lang outside the Forge, Lang compliments his hard work and tells him Saab will be free soon. Lang and Saab stop by ADMC and make the deal for the gun, Saab thanks them for the short notice and they cheer on whoever he's going to kill. On the way out, Saab mutters that he's planning on killing Shang with it, but they don't hear. CJ calls to meet, so Lang hides Saab in the trunk.

CJ apologizes for lashing out and yelling earlier, being frustrated and blindsided by the conversation as a whole. CJ wouldn't have told Shang about the video, or anything Cypress related, and she's frustrated with Skipper thinking she would, too. CJ understands how the paranoia developed, and she understands now that she should have cut her friendship with Shang when she learned he was involved with the Faceless. She didn't want to let go of Shang because she lost too many friends already, and thought she could ignore this. Lang reminds CJ that this life isn't about making friends, and he gave up all his friends to make the North because he believed in the work of the people over his bonds. Lang's frustration is based on the sympathy CJ feels towards Shang, because he works with and gives information to an organization that puts them in danger. He explains that although he just supported Sofia with dating someone from a different gang, he expects her to be put in a tough situation where she's going to have to make a horrible choice, but that's up to her to learn. CJ understands, telling Lang that she's going to cut Shang off. CJ quickly recaps the story that Saab told earlier when they held the DOC hostage and spoke to Opal about the interrogation. Lang tells her that she shouldn't sus out Shang, he still wants to kill him. CJ will try her best to keep things normal, Lang demands that she fix her relationship with Skipper. She's frustrated with him, and doesn't trust him, but will still work with him - that's not enough for Lang, fix it or they're both dead. CJ doesn't seem eager, but Lang calls her one of the smartest people he's met, she'll figure it out.

Lang leaves and tells Saab that he lied about loving him during his conversation with CJ. Returning to Cypress, Lang pulls Hank aside and chats with him about his hard work and who the new people are appearing at Blarney's for work. Hank thinks they'll get bored and run off, but is down to punish them if they bring heat to Cypress. Dropping Hank back to Blarney's, Bubbles stops their car to press them, but realizes it's Lang and Saab. Saab joins the guys pushing at Blarney's, Lang heads to bed.
