CJ has been trying to get Pestilence to meet Lang, but he's been teasing her. She calls to confirm they weren't pinged, but he finally pings Lang to the Rooster's Rest. Lang pulls up with CJ, threatening to shoot him if he's inside, but CJ notices he's sitting in the parking lot. Lang and CJ approach Pestilence, both noting that he's adorned the familiar face of Isaac. Isaac laughs about encountering Saab, but hopes to speak with them privately - Lang offers to go inside the rest and leads them in. (3:30 VOD)
Isaac notes the history the restaurant has had, and his interest in bringing new life to things, but Lang confuses that for re-opening the Rest. Lang gets to the nitty gritty, Isaac wants to take out his brother, Norman Bones. Isaac jokes that he's quite a ghost, Lang correlates that Isaac is crazy like CJ. Isaac laughs it off, reminding Lang that he's heavily associated with crazy. Isaac wants Norman gone as much as Lang does, and it would benefit CJ, too. Isaac can't hand Lang the answers on a silver platter, and if he did, he's worried that a timeline shift would occur. Lang questions if Isaac works with Edwin, but he laughs again. Isaac tells them that Norman holds an artifact that protects him, if they can remove it, he can handle the rest. Lang questions why Isaac wants this in the first place, but he claims it's to restore balance with the deities in their structure. Isaac warns that if CJ continues to assist Norman, she will find herself locked in Purgatory.
Lang asks how they might get their hands on the artifact, but Isaac hints at a contact named Alice Omen. CJ asks if people have tried and failed to get the artifact before, but Isaac laughs the attempt off as slow. The artifact is kept on his person, Lang isn't impressed. Isaac claims that Marshall Dark died, but was given the curtesy of living beyond death. Lang questions that Isaac can keep him alive, Isaac leverages Saab's health as a need to get the job done. Lang understands his task, and tells Isaac to leave. On his way out, Isaac tells Lang that shooting him would be of no use. Lang doesn't think shooting him will get the job done, and runs to the basement to try and find a working computer.
CJ chases after Lang as he tries to piece the cables together, Lang mutters about the timelines and Isaac's involvement with it. He asks CJ about Alice Omen, trying to build a plan to get the artifact. Lang questions why he should help CJ, and how he knew about Lang's history, but she argues that she doesn't know much about Lang in the first place. Lang is surprised that CJ believes Isaac is a god, and compares the artifact to the Talon Sword or Mask. Lang tells CJ that he believes Isaac because he knew Edwin, a mentor of Lang's past. CJ gets mad at Lang for not believing her when she saw ghosts, but Lang tells her that it's not a ghost, its a shadow.
Lang begins retelling the story about Donnie and him hiring the Guild as workers for the Rooster's Rest. While working at the restaurant, they found LSD on the ground. After taking it a few times, they learned that they weren't taking LSD, and the things they were doing on hallucinations, were actually real things. Lang met Edwin who explained that his timeline was dying, and he was tasked with correcting it (saving it). Edwin died, and Lang finished the job. Lang thinks he sounds crazy, and considers that this current timeline might be his fault. Lang took the post of Timelord, and while trying to hide from his past, he had Nancy take the car away from him. Lang doesn't care about Norman, entirely focused on the mention of the timelines. Lang wants to research what is going on, but the computers aren't working. CJ suggests bringing Jacob in to help, but Lang thinks that chapter is closed. The only reason that the Shadow hasn't killed Lang, is because he keeps the Rest a secret.
