4/11/2025 Kick Recap - "The Lord Of Storm"
Lang reads through CJ's recap book. There are notes about: Edgar's friends, the guild house in Paleto, and a man named Diego (Eliza's right hand man). CJ shows Lang her whiteboard dots and questions how they connect. CJ wants information from Skipper about where the Faceless HQ is, and where she can find the radio charger. Lang tries to explain what a battery is, they argue about it being a new or old battery. Lang doesn't actually think the battery is dead, it might have just been a ghost. He realizes that she's wearing shoes and reminds her that she needs to chop trees today. They briefly discuss if she's prepared for the monday mission, CJ isn't very confident in her survival rate. Lang grabs a box from the other room and shows CJ a sniper rifle he had delivered. She points it around the room for practice, Lang is having outfits made for their disguises. CJ says that the South is having a meeting and Jonah is the only one there, Lang and CJ head out to join them.
They arrive late to the meeting, but are able to catch Luciano and Arush's final words on the re-uniting of Cypress. Lang echoes their sentiments, excited to have no tension between the groups. Luciano wants everyone on the same page about treasonists not being welcome in Cypress, Sofia introduces Hank and Jonah, Lang will set up a better meeting spot for future North and South gatherings. Lang wants to have a short North meeting, they head to the Refinery to chat. Lang wanted to speak to the North before the meeting, but repeats the point that they're still North and South. He suggests to treat the South with more respect and include them on jobs if needed, especially since they're a much smaller group now. Lang doesn't want kick ups anymore, they're a family now. They joke about how ironic it is that Jonah is now actually in charge of the fentanyl operation. Lang thanks everyone for being committed to the group, unsure where Liya and Martin will land after the dust settles.
Sofia gives Lang a homecoming present: a new car (buggie). Lang is called to his therapy appointment, meeting Pixie at her hospital office. He quickly notices that she's got the plague as well, but they get into the nitty gritty. Lang chats about the difficulty upkeeping his double life. He circles around the straw that broke the camel's back, upset that he had to kill two people that broke rules instead of feeling like they deserved it. Pixie thinks that it's strange for Lang to hope that it won't happen again, even though he's expecting to kill more people down the line. She questions the value of his atonement, but he argues that he'll deal with the bridge when he crosses it. Pixie thinks the solemn act was performative, she's never seen Lang this calm. Pixie reminds Lang of the importance of being selfish, because he can't help others unless he helps himself.
Lang leaves the hospital satisfied with his therapy session. Lang calls Edgar to check in, Edgar whispers that the Guild house blew up last night. Surprised that Yeager would be injured, Lang wants to meet up with Edgar to check it out, but Edgar is having a 'gang meeting'. Lang calls CJ to tell her about the Guild house blowing up, he meets her at Legion Square. CJ points out that Yuno is giving a police statement down the street, Lang and CJ walk over to meet Saab and Nino who are overseeing his statement. Yuno claims that he was robbed by Eli Lum. Lang teases the officer for being British and liking tuna on his baked potato, even though Officer Frost denies enjoying it. Everyone returns to Cypress, CJ makes fun of Lang for being forgetful, Lang argues he just doesn't listen. Yuno greets Lang after his time in jail, surprised that his story about his gun being stolen still works. Lang updates Yuno about Saab being second in command, Yuno is convinced Lang's cane turns into a gun. Yuno wants Lang to come on the job today, but Lang stresses getting caught.
