4/17/2025 Kick Recap - "Sketchy Adjacent"

Lang cleans the trash out of the Rest and reads CJ's last recap of the week. Norman Bones came by the Forge and spoke to her, reminding her of her deal and claiming that she sounded just like Lang. Norman is aware of Pestilences possession of Isaac, but thinks he suffers the longer he is within that body. She spent time with Skipper who showed her the Faceless HQ and a camera he set up. They went to Nu Epsilon and planned a picnic with the people, they went to the light house. BonBon went to speak with Norman, while CJ spoke with Diego. Diego spoke to her on a real note, dropping the accent and trying to convince her of Nu Epsilon's true ways. CJ thinks this was a ploy, so she maintained her 'cluelessness'. BonBon expressed more frustration towards Edgar, annoyed with the rest of the Trepas members being so dedicated to his cause. CJ asks for Lang to not die or break parole while she's away.

Lang steals an airport luggage buggy and drives down to Cypress. Saab takes Lang to grab food, he recaps Lang about running into Norman last night at the Forge. Norman and Isaac drive the same car, one black and one white. Saab didn't want to act out and leave Lang behind with a mess, but Lang tells him that he can act a little reckless. Saab spoke to South Cypress about doing the fentanyl runs, Lang is down to try it today. They drive by the South and run into them pushing weed in the street. Lang baits Clark and Saab to fight since there might still be tension, they want to prep to do the fentanyl runs as soon as possible. Lang and Saab joke about merging with the South, they take some cash to deposit, and notice the South getting into a police chase. Lang buys a Huntley from Mosley's, they run into Martin outside.

Martin claims he's invested and ready to be mayor. Martin details some of his political strategies, a few things he plans on implementing (bringing back gang sprays), and hopes to win on Saturday. Luciano calls to confirm they're in a chase, stalling the fent runs. Lang tells Saab that if he goes to jail, Saab must destroy the North so Lang returns to nothing. Lang get's changed, they head to the airport to steal a plane and follow the South being chased by cops. Lang lands the plane on the hillside highways, Edgar calls to meet since he's stressing. Lang tries to take off again, but crashes and explodes. Saab survives the crash, he loads Lang and Jonah up in an RV and drives them back into the city. Officer McNulty pulls Saab over and let's the cadet handle the traffic stop. Saab was speeding, somehow Luciano and the boys escaped their chase and offer to wait at the hospital.

The cops call the EMS to come help them from there, they don't issue a ticket, but help everyone out of the RV. The EMS arrives and begins treating Lang and Jonah. South Cypress pulls up and tries to stuff Lang in a car, the cops tell them that they're not being arrested, so they back off in a hilarious exchange. Clark finds Lang at the hospital later and apologizes for the miscommunication. Edgar calls, looking for Lang, but he's just getting out of the hospital. Lang takes Saab's car and races to meet Edgar, Pixie calls for therapy, but Lang ignores it.

Edgar and Lang meet in an abandoned shed. Edgar paces the room stressfully, worried that the Faceless have been listening this entire time. He thinks that they haven't acted upon him as a test, Lang presses him for changing his mind, now unsure if he can trust him. Edgar asks if Lang expects him to hurt his own people, Lang yells at him for expecting otherwise. Lang reminds Edgar that this is war between two things greater than street gangs. Edgar had doubts the moment he was in the Cave, but was afraid to share. Lang thinks that Edgar is putting on a show, because he often thinks that Edgar is snaking around. Edgar has conflicts with it being all worth it. Lang offers Edgar to make his real decision today, they leave hoping to forget the meeting.

Lang returns to the Rest and leaves most of his dangerous goods behind. Lang fakes that he's helping on the fent runs, but stops by the hospital to do therapy with Pixie. Pixie calls to say she's double booked with Edgar. Lang laughs and leaves Pixie to deal with that, rejoining Cypress for the fent runs. After many attempts, the runs keep scuffing out, so they give up. Lang returns to the hospital to meet Pixie for his therapy.

Pixie questions Lang about what he's been up to these days, noticing that he's been at the hospital for a few suspicious things. Lang tells Pixie that he's working hard on his 'family business', and that his goals don't really involve Cypress anymore. He fakes like they matter, but he would end Cypress now if he could. Pixie jokes about being poached into Cypress, Lang guesses that it's Luciano. Pixie and Lang discuss the differences between gang life and their purpose, he facetiously mentions doing a rebuild of things step by step. Lang struggles with being the leader that Cypress needs, but Pixie asks why Lang is the 'savior of Cypress'. Similar to Cerberus, Lang's issue reside in the responsibility of things, and that people need to rely on him. Pixie and Lang laugh about how he's grown, he withheld himself from snapping to prove a point (yesterday with CJ). Pixie hopes that they can dive deeper in future sessions, Lang is open to it. Pixie gives Lang grief for ignoring her whenever he's passing by the hospital, he apologizes for missing her without notice (he totally noticed).

Lang returns to Cypress to meet Saab, Skipper, and Jonah. Edgar calls Lang back, who apparently misdialed him. Lang tells Edgar to stop being so paranoid, but Edgar thinks it's ironic coming from Lang. Lang gets his parts moved around, Saab tells them they have money to collect, so they head out to track them down. After tracking down all the money, Lang plans some Blarney's marketing with the boys. Saab brags about them selling Blarney's beer regularly, Jonah tells them that deal got shut down, Lang drives over to the food stall to figure out what happened. Saab fines Jonah 10k for not telling them earlier.

They find the food stall closed, Lang notices the Skeleclown and pulls him aside to make a request. Lang asks him to bomb the food stall for him, the clown agrees. Lang gives him the bomb and they wait around the food court to watch. The clown's friend hangs out and makes small talk with them, Lang and Skipper notice the cops circling the food court and grow suspicious. They can't find the clown anymore, Lang thinks he scammed them. Skipper remembers that Sneaky (the clown) used to push for Hydra, and they think it's a Hydra stall. Lang and the boys drive around looking for Sneaky, but they come across his nerdy friend. Lang bumps into him several times until they kidnap him and take him to the woods. They make him call Sneaky, but he sounds sketchy, so they shoot him down and leave him in the woods.

Lang drops everyone back in Cypress, and then takes his new car to the Gentry Garage to hide it. Lang takes a short walk over to the Rest and writes a recap of his day for CJ.

Lang heads to bed.
