4/23/2025 Kick Recap - "Nil Nil"

Lang and CJ discuss information on the basement board, CJ tells Lang that she went to a dinner at the Guild's house. Lang isn't impressed, but they head to the Cave to check the USB again. They don't have any new information, Lang wants to speak to Edgar, but is petty with CJ for going to a dinner at the Guild's house. They run into Clark at a gas station, Lang asks him if he's a Faceless asset and Clark admits to have done jobs for them. Clark is down to meet and talk about it, but he's helping Arush in a chase at the moment. CJ reminds Lang that Edgar already told them this, but Lang forgot. They head to Cypress and find Saab, unsure where Liya has been. Lang questions Saab, unsure if he murdered her, but Saab denies it.

They stop by the food court and run into Max, Lang makes small talk about what's next for him, Max claims the new mayor took the Liquid Library back from him. Lang finds that to be surprising, unsure if they can do the same for his the Rooster's Rest. Max tells them that the entire HOA is gone, including Andi. Lang is sad that Andi's retired, CJ had no idea that Andi left, and becomes sad. Lang and CJ head to MRPD, discussing that Andi didn't even text CJ goodbye. They run into Saab again, who's there to help file the missing person's report for Liya. Lang, CJ, and Saab give details of when they last saw and heard from Liya (Lang last saw her on the 14th).

They return to Blarney's and discuss plans for the animal fighting event. They head down into the sewers to build a layout for the event, running into a monkey behind one of the sewer grates. Returning to the Forge, Lang tells CJ that Luciano asked if they wanted to merge and he refused. CJ seems pleased, but Lang thinks it's just not for right now. Saab tells them they got a lockpick blueprint for 50k, Clark calls back to meet Lang, but Edgar calls with bad news. Lang heads over to the Maze Bank Arena to meet Edgar.

Edgar tells Lang that Victor Blackwell isn't dead. Tomorrow there will be a manhunt for Victor Blackwell, 1.5m bounty to capture Blackwell alive. Edgar and Lang discuss details of the hunt, including the involvement of other groups. Lang suggests that if Edgar captures Blackwell, he'll meet him and kill him, again. Edgar tells Lang that Lando was around the house last night, too. Lang wants time to plan, so he leaves and calls CJ to meet. CJ arrives at the Rest, Lang and her discuss the probability of Blackwell being alive. CJ refuses to believe that Blackwell is alive, trying to convince Lang that this is some sort of trap. Lang thinks she's clouded by emotion and doesn't want to take the gamble on possible strange occurrences.

Lang uses Blackwell's phone to call the only contact in it. On the second call they pick up, but both Lang and the other person are silent for 20 seconds until they hang up. Lang leaves to meet Edgar again, CJ wants to come, but Lang warns her to stay behind as she's beginning to cross the line on their trust. Lang meets Edgar at the Arena offices again. He tells Edgar about the call, and provides the phone number to see if Edgar has it. Lang realizes he was texted about an extraction code, Edgar tells Lang the code is somewhere in their files from before. Edgar shares that Dark Stone is the organization that has Blackwell, they are another rogue entity that is separate from the Faceless. There will be 4 extraction points that Dark Stone plans on moving Blackwell through, the Faceless don't want to pay the ransom so they're sending the assets to intercept it. Edgar has pressing concerns about the Oracle, Lang shows Edgar a book of notes the Oracle left behind. Lang heads back to the Rest to find the information he needs to put in the phone.

Lang returns to the rest and finds a grumpy CJ. Lang texts the code 'Midnight Falcon' for the extraction, the texts responds that details will be provided soon. Lang calls Edgar back from a payphone.

Edgar is surprised to hear they responded, and tells Lang about the Hollow Coin that they found on Blackwell. They compare the numbers on the coin (43-14-11-03), Lang is suspicious of Edgar still. Neither of them know what the numbers mean, but hopefully they'll get new information tomorrow. Lang returns to the Rest, CJ leaves to go to the Nu Epsilon event. Lang tries to re-organize everything in the basement before deciding to go to the event as well. Saab wrapped up his job with the South, Lang has him swing by with Clark to chat.

Lang and Clark catch up over the Chumash pier, Lang tells Clark Liya's been missing. Clark is surprised that Lang was so open about the Faceless conversation. Clark tells Lang the procedure of how they're contacted and when they're sent on jobs. Clark shares that there's a job coming up, and he was told not to involve the North. Lang thinks that it was because of Larry from when he was snitching on twatter. Lang tells Clark about the Larry 'faze clan' situation, Clark reminds Lang of the dinner tomorrow, and Lang asks Clark to help be security for the animal fighting event.

Lang calls Eliza to find the Kifflommers, they meet and do introductions with the group. Eliza has everyone pair up for safety, Diego asks CJ to be his buddy, everyone thinks it's a great idea. Lang makes small talk on the beach with people who can't swim, they drink some beer and throw the bottles in the ocean. Harry calls to give Lang grief about saying he's a bomb connect, Lang admits to giving Sneaky bombs and maybe using his name. Harry and Lang laugh about it, Harry thinks they're even now. Lang asks what he means, Harry got caught with a sniper rifle and told the PD he got it from Lang. They agree to be even.

Lang tries to call Arush to be the announcer for the animal fighting event, but can't get a hold of him. He tries to park his car in the Gentry garage, but finds it to be a dumping spot for expired and wasted car parts. To avoid suspicion, Lang uses the tunnels to sneak his way back into the Rest. Lang checks Blackwell's phone and finds texts about coordinates for the extraction. He writes down the details and heads to bed.
