4/29/2025 Kick Recap - "The Past Stays The Past"

CJ gives Lang her weekend recap, he finds it boring and uneventful. They steal a car and head to the food court. Max asks to meet with Lang later, CJ takes Lang back to Cypress. Lang gets equipped and catches up with Sofia, they joke about how dark and gloomy the Forge looks now. Saab and Lang head to the water tower to chat, Lang jokes about disappearing if his 'business meeting' tomorrow goes poorly (if the Lakers get eliminated). Saab has been handling things well, he's working in two people over a very long time to help keep the North populated. Skipper has been nosy and making jokes about Saab lying, Saab pressed him to make sure it doesn't stir up anything. Saab is concerned with the plague and CJ's deal with Norman, Lang will follow up. Saab suggests getting monkeys and wingsuits for the next Blarney's event, Lang will get the wingsuits. Lastly, Saab shares that a new gang popped up called "East Of Cypress Vagos". Lang calls Luciano to get more information, they're both confused, but they agree to slide on them no matter what.

Lang asks CJ about her deal with Norman, she explains that her original deal was to connect Norman with people "who have a lot to lose". While she ignored it for some time, he's been making more appearances to remind her. CJ stops at The Emissary building that has a plaque showcasing that they're partnered with NEST. CJ updates Lang about the dinner they held at Blarney's with the Guild, the Mayors, and some random people from the South. Lang is surprised it didn't get chaotic, but is still pleased to hear that Trey could be dead. Lang takes CJ to the Manor, but checks to see if his keys work on the other doors in the basement. Stumbling into the secret room, Lang finds an old photo of him and Lebron, some destroyed art, and what looks like a shield with a Rooster's emblem on it.

Lang takes CJ into the Cave and he hacks into the USB. Reviewing what's changed, Lang notices that there have been some minor updates and is excited to see the operations that are still locked. They test out the elevator in the Cave, and Lang twats back at Skipper for talking bad about the Lakers. Max requests that Lang meet him at the Liquid Library. Lang and CJ learn that Max is the new owner of the Liquid Library, Max shows them the new distillery room, gifts Lang some old liquor, and thanks Lang for always believing in him. Lang thinks there's more to the Library now, but Max only shows them one secret passage that leads into the book making room. They awkwardly stumble into people using the room, everyone laughs and leaves.

Lang and CJ get prepared to join Saab for a fentanyl run. After a lot of banter and a desert storm, they are able to complete the fentanyl run without much police interference. As they return to the Forge, Lang calls Arush to catch up, Arush suggests 100 men vs 1 Gorilla for a Blarney's event. Saab tells Lang that the Guild is selling rifles now, Skipper noticed that Delver had an AK. Skipper and Saab plan on how they're going to do the Blarney's VIP ceremonies, they find an old man named Willy. Lang grows suspicious of Willy, holding him up while Saab robs him.

They return to Blarney's expecting Hydra to roll by, Lang drops everyone off and climbs the construction across the street. Once the gun fight breaks out, Lang accidentally shoots down Sofia while taking out some Hydra members. Courtney shoots down Lang in the construction and robs him, the cops arrive on scene and gather up all the bodies. Lang is helped back on his feet, but walks out of the hospital since he isn't cuffed. Pixie texts to meet for therapy, Zeek runs into Lang and CJ in the hospital lobby, they agree that it's on. Lang walks in on Pixie with another client, and leaves. The North regroups in the Forge to chat about what happened, Lang apologizes for shooting Sofia. Jonah sold a car with a VAF, Saab stood on business and Hydra was mad about it.

Lang and CJ head over to another Nu Epsilon community service event, CJ is tired of faking positivity. Lang and CJ join the Kifflommers as they clean up the Burger Shot, Lang jokes about the Rest being cleaned sooner if he was left to do it. Diego notes that this is Lang's last required service, but Lang is happy to keep attending. Lang and Edgar chat about if they need to talk today, but Edgar is waiting to meet the Faceless before Lang heads to bed. Diego takes everyone to the secret location, the Rooster's Rest. Yuno calls CJ to meet up, CJ freaks out, but Lang thinks it's normal for people to want to clean the Rest.

Diego wants to honor Lang's contribution to the city by cleaning the outside of the Rest. They all begin cleaning, Skipper notices that the designs look like armour. Lang tells the history of the Rest, how it was once a cab company that pivoted into the restaurant business. Jonah apologizes for the bad things he did a long time ago, Lang forgives him for it. Yuno arrives and makes small talk with Lang about re-opening the restaurant. He's a criminal now, over the weekend Yuno got caught for robbing a bank and went to jail. Yuno hopes to get his record expunged since he was a first time offender. Lang tells Yuno about his murders, and they reflect on Yuno's employee history at Burger Shot and then at the Rooster's Rest. Lang tells Yuno that the North and South aren't fighting, but maybe he can resolve their beef with Hydra. They finish cleaning up the Rest, Yuno leaves because he can't be in one place for long, Diego thanks Lang again.

CJ and Lang return to Cypress, CJ vents about Diego, Lang stirs the tension between them. Lang thinks that she needs to toughen up mentally since Diego can irritate her so easily. Lang tells her to be normal and genuine with Nu Epsilon, but her cheerful attitude is too fake to be true. Lang tries to teach CJ that allowing him to bother her so much gives Diego more power than he should have. CJ struggles to understand that her emotional reaction is part of her strengths, and she doesn't do a good job hiding her issues with Diego. Lang and CJ return to the Rest, they discuss bringing in someone who can be part of their jobs without asking too many questions.

Lang heads to bed.
