4/30/2025 Kick Recap - "Long Live The North"

CJ tries to remind Lang of Amanda and Chris Miller's importance, but he's old and forgot. They stop by the food court to get food, but Lang doesn't want food from the Hydra booths, so CJ makes some burgers from Snr Buns. Lang calls Saab to get a quick catch up on the Hydra drama, Saab thinks that it's reactive since they haven't done anything since the shoot out. While in his head, Hydra and the stall owner awkwardly wait for Lang to notice them so they can chat about bombing the food stall. Lang tries to dodge their questions, claiming he doesn't know who Sneaky the clown is either. They reference the Blarney's drink that was made and then cancelled, assuming that's related to the initial drama, but Lang claims to have no idea at all, and leaves.

Lang and CJ arrive in Cypress, he calls Saab and grills him for taking money alone while they're in conflict. Sofia greets Lang and shares that they did a Paleto heist together last night. Saab arrives with Carlos, Sofia reminds them that Carlos was recently kidnapped by Hydra, too. Sofia tells them that they're out of money because they spent 600k on a gun deal, but Lang thinks that's worth it. Sofia jokes about getting shot by Lang again, he apologizes. Lang notices that Dante parked his car on the sidewalk by Blarney's, so he calls Saab to make sure that new recruits know how to park.

Lang calls Zeek to get information on the rifles, then Arush to figure out who the new rifle connect is and why the prices are so high. Arush offers Lang custom pick of his stock because he grabbed a bunch before the price went up. Skipper joins the radio and requests help while he's being chased, Lang and CJ try to meet them. After escaping their chase, Lang and CJ chat about the Leafs and how much faith she has in them. He tries to convince her that even while they're losing, the Leafs are up in the series. Saab wants to have a meeting at Blarney's, they gather up in the back room.

Saab reminds everyone that he wants to test the flying monkeys event tomorrow, Lang thinks Skipper isn't paying attention. Skipper wasn't given any issues getting mechanical work at the Hydra shop, so they're unsure if it's war time. Courtney texts Skipper an apology, they prepare for Hydra to roll by Blarney's. They wait a while, but nobody shows up. Saab and Skipper lose some bets while they wait, Lang calls Arush to chat about how the South is doing. Arush offers to roll Hydra block with Lang, but Lang would rather be reactive. Zeek and Clark pull up, Lang shoots at their car, Zeek comes by to give Lang a donation.

Lang repairs his car and takes the North to visit Princess' house. They are impressed with the decorating that Windsong has done. Princess informs them that McNulty is the new BCSO Sheriff. She wants to rebuild BCSO and focus on punishing them in the 'Castle Court', which is the room they're standing in. They are confident in her ability to lead and change the culture of the North (Los Santos). They visit a cafe down the street, Lang is intimidated by a tall counter. On the way back into town they clean some money together. Arush calls to tell a funny Tony story: Bruce gave Tony a house in Paleto and he sold it for money.

After a few runs, Lang and CJ split off to check on the USB. Lang finds a new operation listed for Friday at 4PM EST labelled "Talon Transport". Lang doesn't think that they're prepared for a mission so soon. Lang and CJ return to Cypress to keep watch over Blarney's, Skipper reports that Isaac is outside the Forge. Lang and Saab approach him, demanding a solution to Saab's sickness. Isaac leaves them with Skipper who shares what he was told. Either Skipper gets the plague and Saab is cured, or Saab gets cured and everyone else in the North get's sick instead. Isaac told Skipper that the Faceless killed the last doctor who was finding a cure to the plague. Unsure what decision to make, Lang suggests transferring it.

Determining that they're screwed either way, Lang tells them they're going to the lighthouse to team up with Death instead. Lang arrives at the cliffside and demands they summon Death. CJ tries to do summon him by yelling his name out loud, Lang thinks that's silly. They return to the car, Lang thinks they need a soul to give. They grab Princess and take her to the lighthouse, she offers to call Norman instead of being sacrificed. Lang interrogates Princess about her relationships with Norman and Isaac, but she was actually sick and cured by friends of hers.

Lang takes them to Humane Labs, hoping to extract her blood as a cure for the plague. Shortly before they picked her up, Princess mentions being left a book at an anonymous ping. She shows Lang the book, it's from the Oracle questioning who's side she's on. Lang tells Princess that Saab is sick and needs help, Princess doesn't think this will work, but is willing to try. They leave the labs, Norman calls CJ and she requests a meeting. Noticing another cop, they leave Princess on the side of the road and race to the lighthouse. Realizing they didn't give the Oracle book back, Lang leaves it in a parked car outside her house.

Buddha takes a meeting, so the POV is from Saab
Saab, CJ, and Skipper meet with Norman at the base of the lighthouse. CJ requests Norman's help to get a cure for Saab's sickness, Saab notices Isaac watching their meeting from the cliffside. Norman asks for a favour in exchange for reassurance, he wants Oshiera hurt on his behalf. Norman asks what Isaac asked of them, CJ reveals that he wanted to use people as pawns to get access to something that protects Norman. Norman thinks he was being honest about using people, while Isaac wasn't. Norman offers to sweeten the deal if they're able to get it done, Saab cautions Norman to not lose a ring finger.

Swimming back over to the city side, Isaac walks over to their car and demands a conversation with CJ alone. Saab and Skipper watch them chat on the edge of the cliff, moving Lang to the back seat. Skipper notes how strong their presence feels, and how hard it is to look either of them in the eyes. Skipper asks about the ring, but Saab grows impatient and approaches CJ and Isaac. As they walk up, Isaac cuts CJ's throat with his skeleton hand. Saab tackles Isaac to the ground, falling into the water by accident. Skipper grabs CJ and throws her in the car, Saab runs back up to to the vehicle and they race to the hospital.

Saab tries to support CJ by keeping her alive. Saab runs around the hospital trying to find a doctor, Skipper carries CJ to a bed and begs for help. The doctors arrive and begin surgery on her, Saab and Skipper watch in agony. The doctor's return after stabilizing CJ, letting Saab and Skipper visit her in the ICU. Sofia visits and makes jokes about the Leafs losing, and Saab potentially killing her like he killed Liya. They leave the hospital and return to Cypress, leaving CJ in the ICU.

Buddha returns from the meeting
Lang finds Saab, Skipper, and Sofia catching up outside the Forge. Sofia tells him that CJ got her throat slit, Lang questions Saab and Skipper about what happened. After hearing the story, he calls them stupid for even letting CJ talk to Isaac alone. Lang asks why they didn't shoot him, Sofia thinks that Saab already had the plague so the threat didn't matter. Lang is so frustrated that they agreed to any of it, and that he has to handle whatever comes next. Lang goes to bed in the Forge.
