5/8/2025 Kick Recap - "Classic Cypress"
Lang and CJ catch up about her night: she heard Pestilence's voice taunting her, but it's gone now. Edgar got sentenced to 5 years in jail, everyone in the city came to his court case to deliver speeches about Edgar's value to the city, including Eliza from Nu Epsilon. ADMC got house heisted, Perez from Hades helped, Ray knew - Benji didn't. Ray left Hades with a group of people, Benji remains Hades with whoever is left. Lang and CJ meet Saab and Skipper outside the Forge, they continue to catch up. Lang calls Carmine for the money he's owed, but Carmine is currently in a bench trial.
Lang arrives at court and meets Kyle Pred who advertises his new detective agency. Kyle tells Lang that the bench trial isn't for Carmine, he's representing a client as a lawyer now that he's not a cop anymore. Luciano calls to show the North the fighting ring in the Stables, Lang is impressed with the decorating. Cuddles wanted to take Lang for pilot lessons, Lang offers to learn right now. They drive over to the airport, Lang gives her 10k, and she quizzes him on the 'classroom portion'. Lang learns where he can and cannot fly. She warns that if he commits a crime while in the air, he will lose his license for good. They return to the helicopter and begin the flight lessons.
After a few flights around, Lang proves that he's a great pilot. A storm rolls in, he trolls her by faking a crash landing. Lang takes her to Grapeseed, and they attempt to rob a 24/7. Lang is unsatisfied with the lack of police response, so he shoots a tanker and blows it up. Once the cops attempt to make contact with them, he flies back to the city. Giving Cuddles a ride back to Cypress, she shows Lang the South Cypress members rings. Lang hasn't given out the North rings, yet. He drives up to the Liquid Library and Max makes him a plate of food. Max partnered with the Paradise stall, Lang is impressed with the rum cake and Jamaican Beef Patties he's given.
Lang returns to Blarney's and over hears Saab telling the South about how he's been cured, they are attempting to get cured as well. Lang and CJ interrupt with the real story, they realize that's why CJ was injured for a while. Lang believes he's immune, but they haven't seen Hank in a few weeks. Clark tries to tell them that they already got one cure, Luciano admits that they sacrificed Zayn for a vial of the cure. Harry and Luciano have been trying to mix it with different drugs to reproduce it, Lang calls Clark out for trying to guilt them, Luciano thinks it's for firing him as his lawyer. Harry explains that they were hoping to produce something they could sell for the plagued people, but they weren't able to develop anything pharmaceutical. Lang warns them that once Isaac touches you with his skeleton hand, you start to hear voices - joking about CJ. Lang offers the blood of Princess to test on, since she was also cured. They spend time coming up names with the cure, Sofia jokes about Saab killing Liya, they all think he probably did it. Saab mentions he hears multiple voices, Lang thinks those are just his thoughts. Lang admits that the person hearing the voices is CJ, Luciano admits that he saw Harry 'ink', Clark admits that he heard a voice from 'his father'. Sofia tells them that Clark speaks to the ocean, they laugh at him (Mother Cypress). They try to get CJ to contact Isaac, and then mock her meditation pose.
CJ explains how she's related to Norman and Isaac, Lang keeps throwing in points that inform them further. Harry rubs his hands together, hoping to rent her lighthouse property, but she doesn't actually have keys. Saab passes out, everyone ignores him mostly. Luciano asks if they could get them to fight in the Stables ring, but CJ doesn't think so. They leave, Lang takes Saab and CJ with him to the event, but grills them for trying to lie about the story to the South. Saab thought the chapter was over, and CJ was just following his lead.
