5/15/2025 Kick Recap - "Redirect The Anger"

Lang runs into CJ at the Rest, they were texted about mission details for tomorrow. The texts provide a map with the transport route, reminding them to hit the transport at any point before it reaches it's destination. CJ mentions the difficulty planning Kiff-prom while attending as a different person. Lang and Saab have a short Blarney's meeting to discuss how the event will be ordered. Lang calls Clark to check in, he's waiting for more information but still speaks lowly of Edgar. Lang chirps Clark for recruiting yellow page gang bangers, Clark argues that it's just for a fighting event. They banter about the parlays, Lang heads back into Blarney's to speak privately with Jonah.

Jonah tells Lang that he spoke to the Chicken Man and took a cigarette from him. Lang and Jonah are confused about why this is dangerous, but Lang jokes about CJ and Skipper's fear of spooky people. They consider pranking Skipper and CJ later by dressing Jonah up as a spooky entity. Lang reviews Saab's leadership with Jonah, but he has nice things to say. Lang threatens Saab and Jonah for being a "terrible boss, and the worst employee", shooting at some beer bottles before leaving. Lang calls Clark to find Arush, but he's busy eating. The North heads out for some money runs, Jonah speaks up about Saab's terrible ideas.

Lang asks why Jonah was afraid of Lang killing him for interacting with the Chicken Man, but CJ clarifies that she was warning him about getting involved with entities. Lang tells Jonah that he shouldn't be afraid to do what they do all the time. Lang continues to question Jonah about why he was threatened, CJ and Skipper tried to caution him when delivering news to Lang. Lang isn't happy that they tried to manipulate his emotions in hopes to dodge his anger. Picking up Saab and CJ, Lang airs out the discussion and CJ speaks up about how she only warned him to never lie to Lang. Lang doesn't believe that's all of what she said, but she needs Skipper to vouch since she has no idea what Jonah said so far. They return to the Forge to drop off the money, Lang pulls Saab aside to get a second opinion while CJ yells at Jonah for lying about the story. Jonah doubles down, they split Jonah and CJ up to get the stories again. Regrouping with Saab, Lang wants him to find Skipper and bring them to Cypress Court.

Arush arrives, Lang catches up with him about his Faceless mission. Arush got a tracker that helps detail the progress of orders he makes when getting equipment and ammo from the 'Cartel'. Lang sets up the 'court room' in the Refinery, Sofia visits and checks in with Lang. Lang compliments Sofia for being the only sane person in the crew, calling her the Shadow leader. They regroup for some more money runs, Lang makes CJ and Jonah ride together. Skipper wakes up, they meet back in the Refinery and begin the court case.

Skipper has nothing to say before hand, he isn't sure why he's on trial. Lang details the case and potential consequences. Jonah takes the stand and is questioned by Lang to detail the story in front of everyone, Saab examines Jonah's story and how he feels after telling the truth. Jonah thinks he's bad at communicating, worried that what he said will cause harm to their group. Lang warns that if they determine Jonah has created this issue intentionally, he may be killed. Skipper takes the stand, recapping the events from his perspective and admitting to trying to find ways to excuse Jonah. Skipper continues, lamenting that he must work with Jonah and Saab everyday. He yells about Saab's lack of back bone. Lang thinks it's insane for them to convince Jonah he's going to die for having a smoke with someone, when fears of an old past should not be relevant anymore. Lang let's CJ take the stand, she recaps and admits to the same things that Skipper did. Lang joins Saab and and Sofia to discuss what they want, none are happy with the suggestion of redirecting the news.

Lang finds all 3 of them guilty for different things that they've done during this event. He sentences Jonah to pay a 100k fine to Saab, included with a note of honor and allegiance. Skipper and CJ are fined 50k each, to be paid to Sofia, and sentenced to disappointment. Lang is disappointed in them for not trusting in their new familial bonds, and their attempts to hide or divert communication in ways to affect his emotions. He claims he will question every conversation going forward with worries that people were coached before speaking to him. Lang ends the court, leaving them dramatically.

Lang meets Arush at a shack in Grapeseed, he shows him the tracking chip that goes in Lang's tablet. Arush offers to show him once he gets an access code, excited to get started on the next set of tasks. Lang is anonymously pinged to 4 sticky bombs and a note from the Oracle. The note claims to have seen his killing of Victor Blackwell, determining that they are allies in the fight against the Faceless. Clark calls to get Lang's help with the Gang Olympics, but Lang's busy. Edgar calls to meet shortly, Lang kills time while he waits for the ping.

Lang and Edgar meet in the hills, they compare differences as Edgar's been in jail for 'years'. Edgar tells Lang about his conflicts with Cypress during their Faceless missions, and then details what the USBs might be used for (not what Lang knows they're used for). Lang shows that his allegiance to Cypress is nothing more than territory and gang life, but isn't so tied into this chapter of his life. Edgar is worried that he'll be burned by Clark and the rest of the Cypress members, but Lang tries to show him that it's just survival. Lang tells Edgar that there is so much to show him, Edgar thinks that the entire Faceless was built under the same tenants that Talon was. Lang tells Edgar that he had a company called Nest Holdings, which might be different than the company they see plastered all over the city. Edgar asks when he'll be able to view more documents in the basement, Lang isn't sure yet. Lang leaves, offering to connect again tomorrow.

Lang heads to bed
