5/19/2025 Kick Recap - "The Big Blarneys Gauntlet"

Thanks to Sabine for writing

Lang wakes up in his room at Rooster's Rest, frustrated about the trash bags everywhere. He noticed that Saab is already up and promoting todays event on twatter. Lang questions if CJ did any of the cleaning and organizing homework he gave her before the weekend. CJ shows Lang how she organized all the books and items into bags and categories. Curious about CJ's undercover progress, Lang asks CJ for an update. CJ claims she learned a ton and has a book with information. She thinks she completed the task, but needs to round out her theory a bit more and thinks she can finish it tomorrow. Lang is shocked that CJ has spent 20 hours undercover but has not yet finished the task. CJ thinks it's because she is a perfectionist. Lang disagrees. CJ informs Lang that Jonah has the plague, but is in denial and thinks he has HIV. Kyle Pred calls Lang to meet, but Lang wants to later.

While heading to Cypress, CJ tells Lang she was contacted by an unknown number, later identified via text as Gloryon. He claims that he encountered the Chicken Man. Lang rants about how CJ and Skipper believe that some crackhead is a god but he needs to use a phone to contact them, and can't just fly. CJ continues to explain how Gloryon told her to not accept any cigarettes from him because it gives you the plague, correlating this to how Jonah got it. Lang is satisfied with that idea, and hopes Gloryon dies.

On the phone, Lang reminds Saab of the importance of today. He threatens that Saab better not fail him, regarding the event. Saab is putting the finishing touches on the Blarney's race. CJ and Lang head to the start of the race at the top of Mount Chiliad. On the way there, Lang calls an excited Arush who put an extra 500k on top of the prize money. Concerned with gang beef, Lang tells Arush that Hydra is blacklisted and that they need extra security for the event.

Saab explains to Lang how contestants are supposed to jump off of a cliff-side ramp, parachute through a loop that is held up by drones and land on a bulls eye target in the Alamo sea. From there, they jetski through the Zancudo river towards a bridge where the dirt bike race will start. Contestants race through the marshes behind Fort Zancudo, to then jump on a ramp over the highway bridge, race past a few obstacles and land in the final bullseye. Lang is very impressed with how Saab set it up and thinks people will have a lot of fun. He suggests having a biweekly Blarney's Gauntlet race.As a last minute idea, Lang calls Osvaldo to see if he can commentate the race over the radio - Osvaldo says he will try his best to organize something.

Nino calls Lang inquiring about Bruce, Lang informs Nino he is part of South Cypress. Nino tells him he's going to destroy Bruce and Lang is happy that finally someone will do it. Nino explains he used to be angry at him over the property hoarding and gave him a second chance, but Bruce apparently scammed the Kortz Center with what Nino claims to be "the nastiest shit I've ever had to deal with". Lang offers any help he can.

Lang checks over Jonah's list of the race participants, but everything seems to be in order. Lang calls Clark to get any updates on the Faceless mission, and to see if he got his access code. Clark disappoints Lang, so they agree to meet later and chat. Twatter goes crazy with threats after Lang twatted that Hydra and Besties aren't allowed at the Blarney's event. 4head called Saab threatening to pull up, Lang calls for police backup during the event. Lang wants a public apology from them for all the banter, an admittance for setting up Blarney's, and for them to give back the money they stole. The Besties come down to Blarney's to talk it out so they can participate in the event. Lang posts up on top of a building so he has a vantage point to shoot from. After a short time, the Besties leave and want to follow up after the event.

As they set up for the beginning of the race, people gather at the Grapeseed airport to be transported to the top of Chiliad. Lang grows impatient and helps fly people up the mountain. Saab offers an extra attempt at the first jump if they twat out: "fuck hydra/besties". Twatter is flooded with threats while Lang and Bazim transport everyone to the top of the mountain. Kyle Pred and Osvaldo commentate the race from above in the helicopter with Lang as their pilot.

The race begins: 85% of the contestants make it past the first jump. As people make it past the wild waters on the jetskis, they grab mountain bikes and kick each other. Harry takes lead despite all the chaos, and is the first to land on the final bullseye. Harry wins the first Blarney's Gauntlet!

Lang was informed by Skipper that no one made any bets, Blarney's didn't make any money. All the profits went to the prize pool and the costs of the vehicles and ramps.
The crew goes back to Cypress to meet up at Blarney's where Lang drills the North about the importance of working hard and earning money. Lang compares that the port-a-potty in the corner has more use than them because "at least I can take a shit in there". Lang explains next Blarney's event idea where they advertise for a Formula 1 race, except it's just Go-Karts. He then leaves to go shoot the Besties, but orders everyone to stay inside of Blarney's because they're useless. Lang climbs back on top of the building overlooking the Blarney's entrance and stakes it out. He watches people from Cypress stand in front of Blarney's with their guns out, ready to deny any Hydra or Besties from betting. Lang decides to randomly shoot Hank in his foot to teach him a lesson.

Lang calls Edgar and they agree to meet up. Returning to their old meeting spot by a weed farm in the mountains, Lang tells Edgar that Clark told him about the Faceless chip and code. Edgar seems very surprised that Clark told Lang that information. Edgar suggests they get that information together instead. Lang asks Edgar straight up if he lied or withheld information last week, Edgar replies that he told the things he needed to tell. Lang gets a text that things are going down in Cypress and they need help, so he leaves. Once down at Cypress Lang hears gunshots and sees AIR-1 flying over, but decides not to get involved. He drives by on his bike and pees on a Hydra member that has been shot down in front of Blarney's.

Lang returns to his meeting with Edgar, questioning what Edgar's endgame is. He replies carefully, saying all he wants is to survive and to live happily ever after. Lang grows tired of Edgar's pussyfooting around and straight up asks him if he wants to join Talon. Edgar is astonished, he did not think that was an option. Lang says bluntly that he wants to rebuild Talon and he needs people. He explains that Talon isn't some motorcycle club - Talon is the most hardcore shit you'll be put through. Lang asks Edgar if he's capable of learning, despite being impulsive and curious. Edgar accuses Lang of being mistrusting, but Lang needs to know that he's capable of sacrificing everything to be worthy of even seeing the books. Lang considers the option of working together without joining Talon, but Edgar needs time to think about his decision. Until then, Lang will not discuss or show anything else related.

Lang calls Saab to check in, Hydra showed up 6 deep with grappling hooks. Skipper, CJ and Hank are going to jail. Lang tells Saab he did a good job today, but logistics were a nightmare. After the call, Lang sifts through a few of the books and studies the Talon artifacts, and then heads to bed.
