7/8/2025 Kick Recap - "The Life Of A Leader"

Lang calls Arush to check in, they're both impressed that people are around this morning. Lang suggests taking the Stab City sign down and starting their own 'village' there instead, they don't have to be an MC, but they can still keep the vibes of one. They discuss how they process would work, and Arush's need to not be in power, but not be a grunt. Lang crashes and ejects, taking himself to the hospital shortly after. He tries to find a decent place to park, but the tow workers follow him and yell at him about wherever he decides, regardless. Lang pulls out his gun and threatens them, they back off and leave him alone.

Lang calls Skipper to figure out the funeral plans, they agree to have Saab 'buried' in the Cypress cemetery next to Ilya. He finds South Cypress hanging out, Clark compliments Lang's new look and his built dune buggy. Harry and Arush are catching up, Luciano offers to take Lang over and join them. Harry compliments Lang's look, Lang keeps telling everyone he got sand in his eye and that it got infected. Harry claims he stayed in the city and worked while they were all lost in the desert, Luciano is confused by his own memories. They think Zeek is mocking them for dressing like he's still lost in the desert, and explain Toni (different than the don) who was triple-faced and got killed by Gigi while they were gone.

Arush begins telling Harry about the suggested plan, but it derails into confusion. Lang decides to take over and explains that he's just sick of Cypress and is down to start something new. He didn't appreciate that everyone just waited for him to come back, nobody did anything or started anything while he was gone. Harry understands, they joke about how they took money from the state for events, bought cars and disappeared. They tangent into Edgar campaigning for mayor, suggesting Arush try running, and Lang reminding everyone that he's been mayor more than enough times. They circle back to Lang's suggestion of moving up North, together. They agree to speak to the people they're closest to, and are down to bring whoever wants to join them. They don't want to kill people, and want to abolish the Cypress laws so that the main theme is really just to 'do something new'. Harry is leaving for vacation, but agrees to whatever they decide while he's gone. They decide to move through this slowly, hopefully discouraging the spiral.

Lang leaves, Bazim calls to apologize for claiming Lang sold him bombs. Lang demands to know who gave Bazim his number, Bazim stalls in fear but reveals that it was Skipper. Lang wants to speak in person, especially since he never disrespected Bazim after trying out his dungeons. Bazim tells the story of how he ended up in conflict with the Besties: during the Manor war, they robbed the pawn shop when Bazim opened it, the Besties believed that he was helping the Manor, so it resulted in their conflict. The Besties pull up to Lang getting gas and take him hostage, realizing that he's talking to Bazim they begin to threaten him for blowing up their warehouse. They show Lang the destroyed warehouse, and then take him to the bank for the robbery. Alan tries to make Lang get on his knees, but Lang refuses. Lang tells them that he's crazy now (really, now?), they fail the bank hack and leave Lang behind.

Lang calls Bazim to threaten him some more, Bazim picks him up and gives him a ride back to his car. Lang tells Bazim that he could find something in the North, Bazim thinks he has a greater purpose now. Lang calls Arush to schedule around everyone's vacations, Arush thinks Lang can work on things while they're gone, but he'd love to know what the cut would look like so he can tell his tailor. Lang yells at Skipper for standing around and doing nothing, Skipper just wanted to check on Lang after he was kidnapped. They head over to begin the funeral.

-
Lang calls Sofia down and complains relentlessly about how terrible the North is. Skipper calls to ask if Tao can come play piano, Lang threatens him for trying to bring outsiders to the funeral. Dante left flowers, Sofia put down a moonshine still. Lang calls Skipper again to find out what's taking so long, but after hearing that they're trying to find a new vehicle for the coffin, Lang wishes him well and hangs up. Lang cancels the funeral and leaves with Sofia, taking her up to Stab City.

Sofia sees opportunity in the trailer park, Lang agrees and shares his idea of recreating it into Babylon of sorts. Anyone can join them, but they must sell all of their belongings before applying. Lang wants to have end of the week meetings to determine if people should be exiled. Sofia compares the previous Cypress ways, to this new way, but Lang thinks it's different since "it has nothing to do with money". Skipper calls them back to the funeral, claiming they're ready.

Skipper begins the sermon by playing a Lebron song and encouraging everyone to let out their emotions. Lang's speech is riddled with his frustrations for the people of Cypress. Arush, CJ, and Luciano say good things about Saab - Harry does not. Harry warns everyone that if you think like Saab, and make choices like Saab, you will end up like Saab. Gigi, Clark, Zeek, Yaya, and Queenie all speak about Saab. They hurry Dante off, Arush has everyone shoot into the air as their final send off - Lang chooses to piss on his grave and walks away.

Lang calls Sofia to start the process on building propaganda for their new lives, and work on abolishing the laws of Cypress. Lang calls Edgar to meet, they return to their spot in the forest. Lang tells Edgar about Babylon and his idea of rebuilding in Stab City. Edgar is down to join, but he's concerned about his business manufacturing guns. Lang is mostly concerned with property and sports cars, giving up things is thematic, but not rigid based on these things Edgar's mentioned. Edgar offers to use his mayoral campaign potential failure as a spring board of the propaganda for this new society. Lang thinks everything will take time, reminding Edgar not to act impulsively. Lang and Edgar come to an agreement of making the giant step on the 21st.

Lang returns to Cypress and questions Zeek's strange outfit. Zeek claims that this was all Saab left behind for him, and that he misses and loves him. Lang thinks that Zeek was a terrible son, Zeek wishes he could have done better. Sofia calls, claiming that Skipper saw Saab. Lang speeds back to the Forge and runs into Saab covered in bandages. He makes Saab reveal 3 of his deepest secrets, Lang yells at Dante for standing around. Lang and Saab whisper about why they came back, and how they should have left and never came back. Saab refuses to leave, and the only way to leave is if he's killed. Lang confirms to Sofia and Skipper that Saab is back.

Lang and Saab drive around catching up, Lang shows him the trailer park. After showcasing all the parts that make it great, a sand storm rolls in. Saab takes Lang's buggy back to the city, and Lang wanders into the storm.
