7/9/2025 Kick Recap - "Cypress Is Over"

Lang finds his way to Cypress, and then to the food court. He meets an EMS who offers him free food, they make small talk about her job. Lang runs into Dante and Saab, annoyed with them already. Lang and Saab stop by the barber to get cleaned up, Lang decides he wants to sell the Forge finally, but Fiona isn't around. Lang and Saab drive down to the coast and brainstorm who they would bring to Babylon. Clark joins them as they catch up, he is surprised to see Saab after the funeral. Lang tells Clark about Babylon, noting that he would have waited for the Dons to return from vacation, but he would rather get Clark's opinion on the idea and the roster of people to bring. After discussing the plan, Lang believes that he's going to need a leader of the people, and that should be Clark. They want to move forward while the Dons are away, but respectfully to include them since they've given most approval. They want to handle damage control on the people who might cause them stress if they choose to not join, but everyone will get a chance.

Clark mentions that he's already in charge of the South while the Dons are away, and won't mention this conversation. Lang asks Clark to make a decision soon, Saab tells him to make the right choice, and Lang gets upset with him for making it sound like a threat. They stop by the food court and watch as an officer tases and fails an arrest on some gang members. Lang calls 911 to mock the officer, they run into Peach inside who is surprised to see Lang alive. They banter for a bit, the cops are told their car is being towed, and they leave. Lang wants to stop by the court house to speak to a judge, but they notice someone twatting propaganda about the recent desert storms. Lang contacts a justice to meet, Saab tries to contact the man on twatter to arrange a meeting.

Lang and Saab meet the Justice inside the cabinet offices, Bjorn calls to meet secretly and pings Lang to a location after. Lang and the Justice discuss how someone might start their own 'county' legally, and then consequences of doing it illegally. The clowns did the same thing in Grapeseed, but the mayorship lined up and they ended up just campaigning and winning the election resulting in them running the 'north' part of the state legally. Lang thinks the only way 'his friend' can do this, is illegally. They thank the Justice for his input and leave to meet Bjorn.

Bjorn hit his head and had a vision of the storm lord, who told him to be a city guard. Lang and Saab are surprised that Bjorn is a cop now. The cops found the Blarney's Betting Book buried in the desert, and mentions someone named Jack Flynn who is twatting about the rest. The Guild is pretty dead, not many of them are around. Lang wants information on Jack if Bjorn learns more, they agree to stay in touch.

Lang and Saab return to Cypress, briefly check in with Skipper, and then go to the Bank where Lang forces Saab to pull all of his money out. At the bank they speak with Junior (Lang's previous employer) who mentions that he's running for Mayor of the North. Lang reads through his pamphlet and they discuss what direction he's hoping to push the North towards. They stop by Babylon and hide from someone who seems to be pushing oxy there, Lang notes the changes he intends to make. Lang takes Saab into the construction of Cypress and has him light all of the cash he has on fire.

They call Luciano down Cypress for a meeting, Harry joins him as they catch up on the plan. They mention that South Cypress had a break in recently and someone took some cash from the vault, but they have no idea who it was or how much because of poor tracking and structure. Harry spoke with Bjorn, who mentioned that the cops are looking for Saab since finding the betting book. Lang shares what he learned from his discussion with the Justice, and includes that he's working on their passports.

They all agree with Lang's process of application, and then approval for who gets to join. Arush suggested to build a fake nuke and leave it in the middle of Babylon to use it as a threat to keep the city off their backs. Harry notes that this didn't work for Sanguine, but Lang thinks that his process should be different since he's not trying to fight everyone. They agree and understand, Harry and Luciano think they need to move forward with the plan and just leave things to Lang while the other Dons are on vacation. Lang asks if there's anyone they're sure not to bring, Harry and Lang think Gigi would fit well, but are still carrying some suspicions about her. They agree to inform both sides of Cypress and plan to cease operations shortly after that.

Lang and Saab drive around discussing further plans, Lang thinks about some cool new vehicles. They return to Cypress and run into a few North and South members hanging out. Lang is surprised to hear about Big Joe being alive, and they congratulate Andi (ginger hair) on getting officially bought in. Princess calls to meet Lang, he finds her in Sandy with Benny (Edgar's cousin). Benny gives him a tour of the bodega that they have, Lang speaks privately with Princess.

Princess is struggling to run for mayor again since she's being accused for terrorism and treason charges that she surely did not do. While this is happening, she's not able to use the current Blaine County funds to pay workers, and she has no idea why she has such a target on her back. She believes that there were two BCSO officers that specifically feel a type of way about her, especially since she spoke at Edgar's death penalty trial in protection of him. Her trail is later today, and she's working with Murphy, so she's a bit more confident. Lang gives her a bit of advice, suggesting that she begin campaigning shortly before voting. He tells her about his intent to move up to Sandy, and hopes she's ready to hear from him after she wins Mayor again. Lang wishes them well, Benny offers to do repairs on his vehicles any time.

Lang returns to Cypress and finds Yaya dropping off Sofia. Lang thinks that Sofia will be a great leader of 'New Babylon', and she's got to find the perfect people for societal jobs like EMS, mechanic, etc. Sofia isn't impressed with the fact that she's got to deal with everyone over the weekend, after they announce it on friday. Lang wishes her well, and heads to bed.
