7/14/2025 Kick Recap - "No Thought Of The Past"

Lang receives an early call from Edgar about Fregg betraying him. Fregg was working for Blueman (Faceless) the entire time, Edgar handled it, but Lang wants to catch up soon. Lang calls Saab to have a one on one before meeting with everyone else, so he picks him up. Sofia calls to warn that the whole city knows that Edgar murdered his whole family, Lang knows and he'll follow up with her later. Elena calls to confirm that she was found guilty of terrorism, Lang is down to meet later. Lang drives Saab up to some silos to chat where they can oversee the city of Babylon.

Saab updates Lang about the Edgar issue, and that he mentioned their plans to the ex-Tre Pas members. Saab spent time with the North over the weekend, CJ was pinged to a bunch of random things involving elements and now they think she's a Shaman of sorts. After hearing about all the different things people are working on before being accepted, Lang isn't impressed that people are building things up before there is a real goal set. Lang wants Saab's help to determine everyone's perspective before fast tracking them into the society. Lang wants to have a small structure, and a few roles that seem necessary to have a functional society. Liya is back and wants to talk, but Lang has no interest in dragging old issues into the future. Cuddles calls, Lang will follow up later. They contact Clark to come join them.

Clark arrives and gets ahead of himself as he discusses being free of his properties, Lang details the process of how they want to start a 'society'. Clark mentions a few members of the South that have surprised him in their reactions, good and bad. He's excited to see how the week proceeds and who actually applies, because some people really have no reason to apply for Babylon. Lang asks for Clark's first fast tracked person, Clark suggests Leon. Leon is a resourceful leader who handled a bunch of operations, and Clark thinks he'd be a great judge. Lang and Saab want to meet with others, Lang calls Sofia to gather some food for them while they head to meet Cuddles.

Cuddles is surprised to see Saab alive, Cuddles wants to know if she will be wanted in the new society regardless of if Speedy brings her. Lang thinks that she can apply and will be treated like everyone else. She wants to know if her plane will be useful, but Lang stands firm on applicants leaving everything behind. Cuddles has a hard time giving up her tarot cards that were hand made and handed down from generations of people before her, Lang allows her to bring that and only that if she were to be accepted.

Lang and Saab return to the Silos of Babylon to speak with CJ. CJ arrives and shares how she was learning how to gather as her skill for the new society. It quickly spiraled into something she didn't intend, which resulted in a random person giving her a book on Shaman magic. The book includes a journal entry from "SD", CJ reads it to them. It mentions being lost in the desert, and Skipper. CJ gives the book to Lang, he reads parts out loud as well. After reading it in disbelief, he questions CJ's interest in being a Shaman. She's not interested in being a Shaman, but does want to explore and gather herbs and spices for natural medicine. Lang will follow up with her when it comes to application time.

Skipper arrives and they immediately question him about SD the sand Shaman. Skipper thinks that a guy named Spyder Dijon is a crazy drug addict who gave him a schematic for a cop car to extract things to build other things with. Saab realizes that he met this person before, but Lang hasn't. Saab believes he's met Spyder at the moonshine spot before, but they want to see the book that Skipper got, so they drive back into the city together. Lang checks for Spyder at City Hall, but he doesn't appear in the documents. They drive to the docks and ping Skipper to rejoin them.

-
Skipper shows them the documents that were made for him, and how unsure they are about Spyder. They decide to follow up with Skipper later about the Babylon application process. Lang and Saab meet with Edgar on the Silos, they inform him that everyone will still have to apply to be processed equally. Lang wants Edgar to know that he thinks very highly of his ability to build within the city, but he doesn't want the compliment to feed his ego. They group up with a few others by open area in Babylon to have an open discussion about the next steps.

Edgar, Sofia, Clark, Saab, and Lang sit together as they plot. Lang wants to make sure they don't feel like a gang, even if their society builds laws and rules that force people to pitch in and work together. He wants to have committed people with initiative, instead of those who would stand around and wait to be told what to do. They filter through a few questions and sort out a decent understanding of what they want out of the structure. Lang re-iterates the use of the crafting their own things and shows them the work bench where they can begin to work on. Lang gets Clark's list of priority applicants: Gigi, Zeek, Leon, and Yaya. Lang shares his concern about Leon being a snooper, Edgar despises spies and Lang agrees, Sofia stands with Clark in alignment of Leon being a great worker and trusted in their eyes. Lang thinks that his list is short: CJ, Skipper, and Fiona. Edgar asks about Jonah, but Lang doesn't think that Jonah's been fit for priority applicant. Edgar gives his list: Sevas, Benny, Paulie, Hasaj (spelling? plus Edgar's accent). Saab asks if he can suggest some names like Andi and the Blacksmith they found in the Refinery. Lang defers to Clark for his opinion on Andi, Clark thinks that she was just in her feelings about getting bought in days before the end of Cypress, but thinks that with time she'll be a really useful member. Edgar asks if they need work horses, Lang openly agrees, so Edgar wants to add one more. Sofia asks if everyone is leaving the gang mindset behind, Edgar laments that nothing he's done has worked, so he's done with the gang life. Lang will give a speech that helps put everyone on the same page. Everyone agrees that once these people join the society, they are everyone's people.

They send Edgar to call his people down right now, Sofia speaks up about Leon's 'wishes' to be picked last, Lang doesn't like this and denies his first round application. Clark wants Lang to talk to Leon one on one and decide if he's first round or being misunderstood. Clark is sent to call Zeek, Queenie, Yaya, and Gigi (when she's around). Lang confirms with Sofia and Saab that they're okay with Skipper and CJ, they all agree.

After some discussion, they make fun of CJ and Zeek's outfits as everyone arrives. Lang gives everyone the talk: leave everything behind, use new materials to craft what they need, determine their roles, and work towards something of legacy. Lang doesn't want them to use cash anymore for anything, they can get rid of it all. Punishment is exile, they can use bandages from the hospital, and they still have their phones since it's not based on traveling back in time. They all believe in the potential of things, and hope that the code of secrecy keeps them safe from the government's involvement. Everyone disperses to check out the area and get rid of their belongings.

Lang tests out the new ways to purify water and cook meat. Saab and Lang discuss the potential uprising or factions splitting off of Babylon. Lang calls Princess to chat by the Silos, they spiral into her finding a place with New Babylon. Princess Elena mentions that she's EMS trained now, too. Lang and Princess part ways, he calls CJ to meet in the city quickly. Lang cautions CJ about the spooky Shaman stuff, worried that this will result in her being removed from the new society.

-
CJ tries to explain that she has absolutely no interest in the spooky stuff. Lang heads back to Babylon and saves Zeek from a cougar. Lang gives him a few knives and buckets for the new society to use until tomorrow. Lang is anonymously pinged to the Silos where he finds a note from Dark Stone stating, "You owe us". Lang calls Saab and Edgar to inform them about the supplies, and then heads to bed.
