7/31/2025 Kick Recap - "Hopefully The Water's Cold"
Lang and Saab get a recap from Edgar about his conversation with Ryan Kain. Edgar is frustrated with Clark and Luciano for complicating things, but Edgar believes that the arrangement he made with Ryan was necessary. Edgar hands over a black card (marked for death) and a USB key, Lang dooms over the end of New Babylon and being caught in the middle of the Faceless. Clark was given different instructions from the Faceless, and Edgar feels played upon realizing that there were different levels of trust between them. Lang tells Edgar to go solve it.
Lang vents to Saab about this has nothing to new with NB. He wants Edgar, Clark, and Luciano to step down from being Elders since they're so distracted. Lang is concerned with being conveyed as his old self, but if someone doesn't take control, then it could erupt in chaos. Arush announces that they'd be fishing illegally unless they're licensed, Lang tells everyone that they don't follow Los Santos laws. Skipper and Lang discuss the suspicious oversight of Ryan, otherwise he's been developing a tagging system for the vehicles he produces. Lang is impressed by Skipper's progress, but reminds him to have a bag packed in case things go south.
Lang finds CJ and Zeek gathering scrap glass, he checks in with her opinion on NB. Everyone agrees that the tension between the Elders is making things weird, Lang reminds her to pack a bag in case things go south. Lang returns to NB and tries out the gated checkpoint, Edgar calls to go handle the Faceless business, Lang wants him to take Clark and Luciano to prove things are settled. Lang calls Clark to remind him that he doesn't trust him, unless he does.
Lang and Saab go fishing, Lang makes adjustments to Saab's contract made for Skipper. Lang smokes some of Arush's bush kush, they chat about the businesses and how Babalari is becoming an effective currency. Lang and CJ brainstorm a name for the archive, then he meets with Delver to discuss the prospect of him being NB's Sheriff.
Lang calls a meeting shortly after, they share the value in contracts and babalari. Lang continues to highlight the different work spaces NB has, and wants people to shed the old terms they learned from 'gang life'. Lang announces the new Sheriff, Delver. Sebas details the importance of cleaning before they don the new uniforms (monday). Luciano wants people to slow down at the gate, Arush offers everyone free kush for now.
Lang spends some time listening to a meeting Sofia and the other Elders are having. Sofia calls out Edgar for preventing her from entering the Admin office, Edgar tries to explain that the trust between the Elders should be true, but Sofia doesn't care about whatever they were trying to keep secret. Sofia and Edgar spiral into levels of trust, Sofia claims that she only trusts Edgar because Lang said so. Lang walks out of the trailer to avoid the mess, but doesn't do anything to stop it.
Lang builds Luciano a toll booth inside the gate of NB, Saab visits to debrief Lang about the Sofia and Edgar fight, CJ calls to choose the name "Nabu's Nook" for the archive. Eliza calls, Lang invites her by NB to catch up. Lang and CJ joke around, Eliza arrives and greets them, Lang get's a text about the Faceless Mission happening very soon. Eliza mentions Diego, he was getting fired but quit before hand. Lang brings Eliza over to a lounge area, CJ hands over a recap for her to read about NB. Eliza reads aloud as chaos surrounds them, Lang tries to ignore the conflict of the mission happening while they're catching up.
Skipper takes his packed bags and announces his departure, frustrated with how crazy things are getting. Eliza asks if Lang's been contacted by the Investors who bought their building (Nest Holdings), Lang is surprised that she met them. Lang tries to offer Eliza a place in NB, but she thinks she has more to handle first. She doesn't want to bring baggage with her.
