8/15/2025 Kick Recap - "Weaponizing Stupidity"

Saab joins Lang by the dock for the recap: everyone is injured for different things, Edgar was bombed after his Faceless meeting (nearly perma) and members of New Babylon not listening. Lang thinks this is a result of burning the blueprints, Saab agrees. Saab wants to give a few awards today to increase morale, they head into NB to catch up with everyone else. After an unappealing conversation with Yaya while Lang get's food, Lang checks on the members getting treated by Gigi. Gigi thinks Edgar will need a lot more time, Lang is disappointed he lost his second in command already.

Lang and Arush go check out some tents, Benny tells Lang that he was fined 10 BBL for leaving camp during the chaos, but he understands his mistake. Lang mocks him a little, still surprised he was fined so much. Clark needs copies of the map made, Lang offers to handle it. Returning with the maps, Lang makes a dank deal with Clark by charging him extra BBL for the copies. Lang hates that everyone threw their phones away and is using pagers now. Lang and Harry meet by the beach to get another recap, Harry tries to hold Lang accountable for killing the Lost MC (npcs) that guard NB, but quickly decides against it.

Harry tells Lang about Benny, Skipper, and Paulie getting into trouble last night and using the old city's hospital. Lang and Harry discuss how their mentality has shifted from using old world tactics, while additionally revealing to the city that they're armed and potentially dangerous. Harry believes that there should be a trial today for what happened, Lang agrees. They are more concerned with Paulie's behaviour and how they had to handle him while concussed.

Lang calls Saab to complain about not getting a good enough recap, Saab agrees with everything Lang says including his surprise that Skipper would show the musket. Lang speaks with CJ to get her perspective, and informs her about Skipper's actions. He assigns her to handle all the weekend recaps from now on, she'll do a better job. Lang checks out the new hospital sign, and then pulls Elena aside to chat. Elena tells Lang that she's being taken back to court for embezzlement, Lang wants to speak to the cops on her behalf, so him and Saab head down to MRPD.

Lang and Saab meet with the officer who clarifies that she isn't targeting Elena, but mostly that she's just doing her job. While Elena was dealing with the first set of charges, she was court ordered not to do anything, but she sold two properties for a dollar. After the mayorship changed over, and the new systems were in place, they revisited this case to determine that was illegal, Lang agrees that she likely made a mistake and her legal council didn't help her. The officer mentions that she found Clark Mason at a traffic stop with all of his gear shoved up his ass, but they are interrupted by an emergency so everyone leaves.

Lang and Saab return to NB, Saab shows Lang the merchant's guild record, Lang is impressed that CJ has completed so many contracts. They want to start the meeting with positivity and celebrating those who are working hard, before they kill the vibes. Gigi tells Lang that she thinks that it's okay to take people of NB to the hospital, Lang finds it difficult to deal with this dilemma. Gigi thinks that she would HAVE to take someone to the hospital if she couldn't treat them in NB, Lang suggests some ways where it makes sense, but they have to decide later. Lang speaks with Delver shortly about everything, but he's happy to hear how things go from the trial as well.

Lang gets frustrated from everyone standing around, so he gives up and yells at everyone to gather for the town hall. Saab begins by awarding a few people with medals for completing contracts for the merchant's guild. Lang stresses the growth they've had over the weeks they've built NB, Lang calls Skipper to the stage to stand trial on monday, for his actions on wednesday - he faces exile.

Bazim announces a new spice he plans on releasing soon that is performance enhancing. Yaya declares that some people went against the codex while he was asleep last night by eating poorly made food. He proposes the BBL be refunded from the people who completed the contract by gathering food, nobody wants to eat the terrible food they gathered instead. Gigi announces new certifications for different levels of medics, and demands people to refrain from treating others unless they are licensed. Clark announces the Eagles, the search and rescue team. He pays Lang 1 BBL for the ad for his new maps, Lang reminds everyone that the maps are very good and could be useful for the exam. Harry calls for a prayer for Edgar, everyone from NB repeats after him. Lang is paid another few BBL from Arush and Elena to advertise for their businesses. Lang reminds everyone that Skipper is not exiled, and that he is innocent until proven guilty. Lang reads a story about consequence and punishment.

Arush asks for new blueprints for additional weaponry, Zeek proposes a plan to handle the bank and Lang is impressed that he's actually thought about it. Eliza shows Lang an application for someone she vouches for, Lang is willing to speed run him, but he's not around. Based on clarity, Eliza admits that Daniel is her husband. Lang pre-approves the application because he trusts her judgement, and is interested to see how he fits. Lang checks on Edgar, who's still passed out. Queenie pulls Lang aside to hear about the Skipper issue, he gives her a recap of the case and suggests that she gather more information as she sees fit.

Luciano hands over an application, he's the one that bought the first Armadillo. Clark gives a map to the library for them to rent, and then sells the rest of the maps out of pocket. Lang speaks with CJ about the rules for the library, suggesting new ways to control the information of their legacy. He reads through Dougie Davis' application to NB, and realized that they need a newspaper. Lang stops by the Library again to show CJ, but she's in her mind. He spooks Harry and Clark who are studying, suggesting they kill CJ to put her out of her misery, but she returns.

Lang and CJ argue about NB needing a newspaper, and letting people rent the books more often. Lang takes 5 BBL for offering new ideas, teaching CJ the ways businesses make more money. Lang offers to write the newspaper to prove that it's easy, and then checks on Edgar who seems to be waking up and recovering slowly. Dante visits and gets a tour, Saab jokes about him being his merchant competition.

Harry pulls Lang and Saab aside to discuss how strange Luciano has been acting. Harry details that he tried to exchange worms for food at Ratatouille, and was one of the culprits who exchanged bad food for a contract's payment. Harry thinks that Luciano needs some guidance, but Lang thinks he's just not as serious as he used to be. They pull Clark aside to check on his opinion of Luciano, he agrees that people are taking him too seriously. Clark admits to being silly with Andi about the olives, but she agreed to take them (even if she was cornered), so they don't care anymore.

Lang meets with Dante to catch up on how things are going, he gives some cocaine to Dante's friend who just got out of rehab. They play polite with Dante, but Lang reminds him that he doesn't like him. Lang and Saab return to Edgar who barely remembers anything, he reminds Gigi to take Beric's arm, and then heads to bed.
