8/21/2025 Kick Recap - "The Equation Of Life"
Lang and Saab meet on the docks to build a plan for today, they must do the encoder mission before friday. Stanley's headed out for a couple weeks, so this is the only time they have left. Saab discusses the difficulty with the mission, Lang argues about who's going on the mission. Saab shows off the thieves guild disguise he cooked up for external missions, Lang likes it. He leaves to visit CJ and Arush, checking out their progress. Lang and Saab try to build more of the bridge towards the airport, but can't decide on something that works.
Lang checks on Skipper, using the new vehicle to motivate him. Harry tells Lang he's slowly collecting all of the New Babylonian's old assets to give away in an event soon. Lang wishes Gigi a happy birthday, they chat about giving medical packages and charging for extra service if people are constantly getting injured. Gigi jokes about giving Lang botox or helping him return to his youth, but he refuses. Lang gives Saab some drugs for 2 BBL, and then teaches him the ways of gathering dust. Lang calls Bazim over and re-focuses him on the importance of dust and what they need it for.
Lang calls for a town hall, Edgar hears chattering that nobody else can hear. CJ is fined 10 BBL for being late, Lang's 'Magic Mushroom Temple' is now open, anyone that baits Skipper to speak is permanently exiled, Benny gets put in the shame pit for clearing his conscious, and a few are reminded about their mission later. Harry reads everyone a sermon of sorts about authority, and then sings a song to everyone's surprise. Lang announces a random inspection, Clark and Arush search everyone's pockets.
A bunch of people are caught with things, Jeff is fined extra for talking back, Edgar needed cash to change clothes, CJ got cash back from recycling her books, Fiona was the only real criminal for holding onto a loch ness plushie she had made. Lang searches Arush and Clark next, but there isn't much issue. Arush announces weapons training later, Lang takes his last two BBL for the ad. They head over to Eliza at the church so that she can burn the foreign items, she provides a sermon as well.
Harry pulls Lang aside to discuss what they should keep of the properties and things he's collecting, Lang agrees that they might need bargaining chips in the future. Arush rallies up people for the training mission, they head to Humane Labs. The cops arrive and try to escort them off of private property, Lang karen's a bit until they leave them be. Arush guides them through the Labs practicing combat communication and coverage in groups.
Lang and Saab are pulled over by the cops on the way back to NB, Lang sees some numbers in the sandstorm. After a lengthy discussion with the cops, the officers lead them to the one tree. Lang gives Saab the book of the Ashen Tree and has him read it out loud, they are both stunned by how their path lead to this. They call Edgar down to hear the story, and explain how the Shai Hulud will lead them to further greatness.
Lang decides to bring everyone from NB to the tree, recapping the story again to teach them of the discovery. They notice the words 'SAVE US' painted on the hills, so they declare it the new outpost of NB. Lang, Saab, and Edgar discuss how they will guard the tree, and build a security system for it. Edgar asks to take some mushrooms, they return to NB and Lang explains where they get the dust from. Lang tries to trip out Edgar a bit by changing into different animals and acting like he never did drugs with him.
Buddha teleports Edgar around the city, and into the Rooster's Basement, before returning him to NB Lang wanders around with everyone until they find Edgar's downed body, he tries to fill in Stanley on everything he's missed and then heads to bed.
