09/03/2025 - "Snakes In The Grass"

Lang learns that Edgar is back in town and went on a scope out mission last night with Benny. CJ and Sebas to the Faceless house. Lang isn't happy with this and is confused why Edgar isn't talking with others before going off on a dangerous mission. As Edgar could've learned that there were already plans in place, made by Lang, Saab, Clark, Arush and Luciano, on how to handle the Faceless issue.

Lang and Arush head to the site of the missile launcher in the forest to check things out. They come across a moonshine operation. They steal the moonshine and bring it back to NB to Elena's trailer.
Saab finds a book behind a trailer and calls Lang to alarm him about the contents. The book contains information about the weapons and who manufactures them and also information about cannibalism in NB.
Lang and Saab head to the Ashen tree to ask it for help or a sign.
Lang and Saab then call Arush to tell him about the contents of the book. They agree that this information could only have come from within.

The town meeting starts. Lang does not reveal anything about the book yet, but has everyone hand in their phones to Arush and Luciano, so he can look through their texts and potentially find any hints as to who the leak might have been.
Lang breaks the meeting off and goes to the beach to look through phones. He only susses Edgar, Eliza and CJ but says their texts can be cleared with context.
He calls everyone back at the Range to give their phones back.
Eliza speaks up and says she isn't happy that there is a continuous distrust within NB growing.

In response to this, Lang has Eliza read the book that Saab found, out loud in front of everyone. People are shocked. Eliza then explains she has been feeling a change in the culture in NB for weeks.

Edgar speaks up too regarding the book and his opinions about it and Lang points out that there are several contradictions in Edgar's story. Edgar proposes an idea that directly contradicts the codex, which Lang points out.
A continuous wedge is growing between Lang and Edgar.
The town meeting turns into a discussion with Lang on one side explaining how it is impossible to fight the Faceless and they have to retreat and Edgar explaining that he can't sit still and do nothing and he wants to fight.
The discussions ends with Edgar riling people up who want to take action and moving to the island next to NB.
A helicopter flies over NB and drops several bombs on the island that Edgar and a few others are on.
Lang and a few others hide in the shame pit.
Once it's safe to leave, Lang heads to the pier to look out onto the island that is now filled with rubble and fire.
