9/17/2025 Kick Recap - "If We're Cool Like That"
Arush and Lang chat about how the cops have been, and their fear of the dentist. Lang meets with Harry to discuss some ideas, Gigi texts some progress since she won't be around until later. Lang finds Bazim speaking with Officer Peach on the phone, he finds it suspicious so he calls himself. Peach wants to meet and chat, she won't tell Lang over the phone. Lang takes Bazim to the Ashen Tree to question him under it, using it as a lie detector. While they speak, a mountain lion attacks Bazim, so they return to New Babylon. After getting Bazim back on his feet, they return to the tree to talk. Bazim gets lit on fire for lying, so they circle back to NB for help again.
Jeff asks for access to Chrome, but he must wait for Sofia. Jeff considers stealing from Grime trucks for future supplies, Lang defers him to Saab. OTT comes by NB to speak to Lang, Clark calls to inform him that he's been around a few times. Lang takes Saab to consume mushrooms and read affirmations, CJ got into a fight with someone for stealing metal sheets in town. Lang and Saab meet with OTT at the Silos, OTT shares his random encounter with NB upon returning to the city. Eliza spoke with him and shared their purpose and lifestyle, OTT was interested in joining, but he admitted to having history with Lang. OTT didn't want to apply unless he spoke to Lang first and determined that it would be not a waste of time. Lang doesn't think it'll be a waste of time, but it still requires the standard application and interview process. They take OTT's application, Peach calls to meet.
Lang and Saab wait for Peach, Lang predicts that Kyle Pred is coming with her. Pred greets both of them as the new Chief of Police, he wants to go through the trials and meet the citizens of New Babylon as an 'urban explorer'. Pred shares that someone in NB is being investigated for the murder of an officer, Lang has no idea what they're talking about. Pred shares that his new captain, Peach, would like to investigate from within the gates and conduct proper interviews with suspects. Lang doesn't seem interested, but Peach leverages her feminine nature until Lang agrees.
Lang and Saab want to investigate about the cop dying, since they were never informed about it. The town hall begins, Lang shares the issue with everyone, a few citizens mention knowing about this. CJ references a Mr.Yeast being at NB, Bazim clarifies that he's aware of it, so after the meeting Lang pulls him aside to interrogate him. CJ confirms with AC that the story was true and she wasn't being forgetful, Lang takes the Molemen to gather new materials for them to build the Embassy with. Arush, Saab, and Lang interrogate Bazim about what happened over the weekend.
Lang is very on edge since it's been 8 days since he's had a coke zero. Bazim explains that Paulie and him watched a cop do a backflip off the Silos as a "Mr.Yeast Challenge". They returned to NB after watching the challenge, but the officers came by NB with suspicions. Luciano was informed of everything over the weekend, so Lang is less annoyed that nobody was told. Bazim clarifies that was the reason Peach has been trying to talk to him, realizing that it might not be a friendly relationship. They leave Bazim to decide what they're going to do. CJ and the Molemen return, and CJ remembers sending some officers up to NB after being bothered in the city. Lang gets frustrated that people remember parts and important details and didn't share them.
Lang meets with Arush and Luciano again, confirming that Luciano didn't know that the officer had died until just now. CJ knew that he died because Brian Knight called and told her, apparently he often calls to inform her of things and to interact with Lang sometimes. Lang is annoyed that he walked into the situation blindly, and that he met Kyle Pred on the same Silos that the cop died at. Lang meets with Detective Skipper and sets him on task about this issue.
