9/22/2025 Kick Recap - "Thank You For Ruining My Day"
Lang and Saab discuss what becomes of Edgar after his 7 year sentence, along with his use of outside help to attempt to escape the cops. They argue about who's checked out, Lang thinks Saab could have stepped up and been better. Saab wants to visit the Ashen Tree, they find a panther there as they arrive. Clark checks on them, Lang is impressed they do security checks at the tree. Saab begins to pray at the tree, but his voice changes and his body becomes ethereal. Lang isn't sure what Saab is going on about, but questions him until he returns to normal.
CJ wants to recap, so they head to the tunnel to meet. Pred came down on friday to interview only Luciano, Gigi got caught for throwing a knife to Edgar in prison. Lang reads through her recap, but finds most of it useless since it involves Edgar. Saab calls Brian Knight to meet, Lang and Saab meet him at the Silos. Brian shares the info about Edgar, and that Edgar was with him when they tried to attempt his prison break. Brian is mostly surprised it wasn't done by the people of New Babylon. Brian heard about a tunnel system, but isn't curious unless Lang wants him to know about it. Brian informs them that the charges are being dropped and nobody is investigating the officer's death anymore, Lang claims that Brian ruined his day and leaves.
Returning to NB, they overhear security heading to give Edgar supplies. They stop Arush, Luciano, Bazim, and Pauli and question why they're doing that - but Lang doesn't prevent them. Lang and Saab visit the prison to try and speak with Edgar, they come across some of the people that tried to break Edgar out, who brag about having to do their job. Edgar asks for permission to get a phone and revolt the prison into 'New Babylon v2'. Lang and Saab think it's good that Edgar keeps his mind busy.
Peach calls to come by NB and continue investigations, annoyed that Lang took friday off. She asks for permission to hold a gun to their heads, Lang sees no issue with it. Imo asks about the air filtration system they might require for the tunnel, suggesting that they use some of the barrels he found in the sewers. After a quick Moleman meeting, they want to head to the sewers, but decide to wait until after the town hall meeting. Lang checks out the new hospital wing and is impressed with how good it looks.
Saab begins the meeting praising the Merchant's Guild, Lang hopes that everyone is communicating about the important details and preparations they're making for when they go underground. Lang sends Saab into the shame pit for the rest of the meeting for shouting dumb things. Eliza praises the rest of the citizens and announces the re-introduction of the codex tomorrow. She hopes that everyone isn't motivated entirely by BBL. Lang still wants the property auction handled by Harry B, and claims he will have everyone in NB investigated to prove they are clean. Lang reminds everyone that they will be interviewed one final time before being allowed in the underground. A jet flies around a few times spooking everyone, Lang pulls out the AA turret in hopes to shoot it down, but it disappears.
Lang and Eliza meet about some updates: she doesn't think Edgar is acting against the people of NB even if he's leaning more on self preservation, others have visited and been curious about the tunnel, Dio and Hassan are both known Faceless assets working with or attempting to work with Edgar still, the codex should be ready tomorrow.
Lang gathers up the Molemen to head into the city, Imo drinks some of the sewer water and feels invigorated. CJ seems interested in it, but Lang questions her intelligence. They find the barrels of radioactive substance and roll them out to the entrance. They return to NB and share their deepest secrets outside of the tunnel. Next, Lang takes them to the Ashen Tree for a prayer.
