9/29/2025 Kick Recap - "If They Try To Out Petty Me, They'll Lose"
Lang tries to get Saab high, but he can't so early anymore. Lang yells at people for standing around, and makes Skipper do laps for asking questions. Arush is trying to get some contracts done, Saab got handcuffs from a cop so they can make some for the Sheriff. Luciano shows Lang mail that someone dropped off for Edgar on friday, Lang doesn't understand what "Hollow" means.
Lang meets with CJ to discuss plans for the library, she doesn't have any plans, but shows him a poem she found by the Ashen Tree. Skipper finally meets Lang 'without an accent', Lang threatens him going forward to not sound so cheerful. Skipper thinks Fiona and Lottie are missing, as they haven't been seen in a while. Lang takes Saab to the Ashen Tree to read the poem, Saab doesn't find it that suspicious. Bazim meets with Lang to call him out for trying to break him, Bazim thinks he's jealous and making spice instead. Lang and Bazim argue about their spice quality and how crazy they both are. Lang is interrupted by security doing perimeter checks, so he gets mad and shoots firework RPGs at them. Lang and Saab go for a boat ride and a chat about progress.
Saab begins the town hall politely, but Lang reminds everyone that they will be interviewed and judged before entering the vault. Eliza takes over the rest of the meeting, motivating the citizens. Lang demands a higher amount of BBL for today's announcements, Arush pays it, but Bazim doesn't. Skipper warns everyone of Lottie and Fiona's absence, Harry B calls out someone for putting graffiti on the tent. Lang thinks they're mocking the citizens of New Babylon, and after a bit of a back and forth (and sending Luciano and Arush to do punishment laps), a decision is made for the Merchant's Guild to punish them. CJ gives an ad for the Library, hoping that everyone can write some original work to keep their history alive. Queenie asks for more doctors since she's the only person around to help the people of New Babylon, but she can't do it all herself. Lang sends Luciano on another set of laps, but Luciano refuses. The rest of security rallies at the stage, revolting against the Marduk's commands for they are also punished by him when he shoots the fireworks at them. Eliza tries to speak to Lang about his power, but Lang offers to do it in private. Arush gives his ad for the battle axe that is now craft able by him, Lang ends the meeting by sending everyone off.
Lang and Eliza chat about why he is determined to punish security, and the unfortunate collateral that medical takes by not expanding fast enough. Lang suggests that he plans on asking question for the Vault test, which is "What have you done with your time in New Babylon?". Lang thinks it takes everyone a little bit of FOMO (fear of missing out) to lock in on their tasks, and he refuses to be disrespected anymore. Eliza doesn't think they should pull guns as a solution, Lang agrees, but Daniel simply would not stop talking when demanded of silence.
Lang gets Andrew to work on some ads for the medical department to help expansion. He calls for a Molemen meeting, CJ and Skipper share how their sales are going for spice. Zeek reacted strongly to the spice, he needed to sacrifice a woman to the Ashen Tree, Lang suggests that maybe that's why Lottie and Fiona are missing. CJ leaves, Skipper informs Lang that he's going on trial for violating two codex rules. Lang agrees to go on trial on wednesday, refusing to speak to Harry B.
Lang, Saab, and a few people of the Merchant's Guild take supplies over to Osvaldo's house. Osvaldo wants a watch tower and a toll booth built outside his house, Bjorn and the rest of the guild show up to over-see. Lang sends Jesus to investigate a suspicious looking person, apparently there's a small zoo in the house next door. They go tour the zoo, Bringle warns of them gathering animals outside NB sometime in the future.
