11/17/2025 GTA Recap - "The Man I Used To Be"

Lang discovers he got his time shortened by Brian Knight, so he wishes Saab well and leaves prison. Lang returns shortly to bring Saab food, there isn't any DOC awake. CJ is sick, Lang spends his time recapping with Luciano. The Besties think Lang snitched, even though he didn't. Lang calls Bjorn to check in, but Bjorn doesn't want to be tracked or traced. Lang offers to get a new phone, but him and Luciano are in debt and gave up city based cash. Frustrated they don't have any equipment, Lang tries to sort the ammunition. Lang re-instates Skipper to his original status, not fully Marduk yet.

Lang, Skipper, and Luciano talk about pizza toppings and go beg for money for a new phone. Brian and Lang speak shortly about why the Besties think he snitched, but Brian claims it's just bad luck. They get money for the phone from a worker at the food court, but realize that can be traced, too. They return to New Babylon for the town hall meeting, a few people give motivating speeches, but not Eliza. Carla airdrops everyone a document with a map and games designed for the Babylonian Games. Lang is impressed and very satisfied with it, telling the rest of the people to help make this dream a reality.

Lang wants to speak with Eliza on the tower, he has Luciano join them. Eliza doesn't seem all together, Luciano notes that she was all blacked out last week and acting strange. Eliza pulls Lang aside privately to speak about her emotional and personal issues, Luciano eventually gets fed up and leaves. Eliza feels like a PR puppet for whatever group she joins, and finds that she's not making any actual progress in her well being. Lang reminds her of her strengths, determining that she might need a few motivational reveals.

Lang and Luciano go pick up Skipper in town. Luciano mentions all the side bars as of lately, wondering if people don't trust him, but Lang thinks it's just their own personal need to share personal details. They take Skipper to the food court and ask the worker to buy the new phone for them, he seems okay with it. They chat about how annoying the city accent still is, and Leon passes them while handing his own business.

Lang gets the new phone and calls Bjorn, Bjorn claims that the Besties have been diverted off of Lang's path for now. Returning to New Babylon, Lang drops the boys off and takes Eliza for a ride. Lang shares with details about Edgar's past, his family's history, and how they were related. They notice someone following them, but Lang realizes that it's Jacob who was also part of Lang's long history. Unsure if it's more suspicious, they decide to skip the Rooster's Rest and go to the abandoned Clean Manor. Eliza shares that she shot Diego, and that she's concerned for her last two faithful members of Nu Epsilon.

Lang and Eliza speak about his family's heirlooms, why he's an enemy of the Faceless, and what the real purpose of building New Babylon was for. Lang thinks that he's been a failure ever since he returned to the city, and that he's nothing like he once was. Lang wanted to do both things, motivate people and build a community, while protecting his assets. Eliza is unsure whether her purpose was to be a protector of this legacy, or simply a 'crackhead'. Eliza questions if Lang's group working against the Faceless is a real group or not. Lang confirms it is a real group, CJ is aware of most things, and that this organization is left to barebones. Lang and Eliza return to New Babylon for the rest of their tasks.

"Is this simply more syndicate, echo, guerilla warfare.. throwing childhood beanbag toys at a nuclear bomb?" - Eliza

AC pulls Lang aside to ask about the stuff in the tunnel, Lang thinks he'll learn eventually. He wants to maintain AC as a private asset to him, so he wants their interactions to be more discreet going forward. They are interrupted by Klevin complaining on the mic for being lit on fire by Luciano. Lang speaks with Luciano about what happened: Luciano poured gasoline on him to wake him up, but the fire caught the gas. Lang leaves Luciano to handle this, knowing that it might become more dramatic on purpose.

Lang heads to bed.
